Another perspective of Kilchurn castle.
Kilchurn Castle is a ruined structure on a rocky peninsula at the northeastern end of Loch Awe, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It was first constructed in the mid-15th century as the base of the Campbells of Glenorchy, who extended both the castle and their territory in the area over the next 150 years. After the Campbells became Earls of Breadalbane and moved to Taymouth Castle, Kilchurn fell out of use and was in ruins by 1770. It is now in the care of Historic Environment Scotland and is open to the public in summer.
Newark Castle is a ruin located just west of St Monans, on the east coast of Fife, Scotland. The building stands in a dramatic location, overlooking the North Sea. The upper storeys are ruinous, but vaulted cellars survive, hidden from view.
Looking out the still intact window of an ancient abandoned blackhouse. With the thatch roof long gone and the door blown open; exposure to the wild sea gales and weather has taken it's toll but to me - it's just perfect.

Not really sure what season it is, it's definately not summer, and questions have to be asked if it's even spring!
I arrived here last night and it was pouring, grey, cold and miserable (see the shot in the comments), but something made me want to hang around. Amazingly the rain stopped and the front moved quickly to leave a clearing behind it, with a resulting 30/40minute window to make some shots.

In Assynt’s magnificence winter lies,
in sheets of white on hill and stone.
Snow crowns the peaks beneath dark skies,
a world that time has never known.
Rugged mountains stand stark and still,
their edges cut in frost and bone.
The wind runs free by its own will,
through land that stands forever lone.
Snowdrifts rest in valleys deep,
soft on rock yet fierce and free.
The land speaks truths it does not keep,
in cold and clear austerity.
Oh how I love the truth I see,
in winter’s calm, untamed melee.
The wild the white the land made free,
in Assynt’s ancient solemn gift to thee.
