A buddhist stupa is a spiritual monument which is a symbol of the enlightened mind and the path to realization. This is one of the holiest stupas in Nepal. It's located in the Kathmandu valley along the ancient trade route from Tibet. There are over 50 Tibetan Gompas (Monasteries) around the stupa which were constructed by Tibetian refugees. It is also one of the largest in the world and is a UNESCO world heritage site so it is very popular wirth tourists.
