1985 “Third Eye” painting, one of hundreds of artistic collaborations with Jean-Michel Basquiat in which Warhol would paint an image, Basquiat would respond in paint, and several rounds of commentary and abstraction would ensue. Courtesy: Bischofburger Collection.

Was on a TOOL concert in Zürich last week. Damn these guys are the absolute masters concerning audio AND video. Their show really blasted me away (impressions here ) and gave me so much inspiration on creating pictures.
See the text for their song here. I would like to tell you what it is about, but : Think for yourself...
A little bit about how it was done. 90 % of the work went into training my portrait post-processing skills. I learned stuff in the "technique thread" and from other sources that I wanted to try out. That smooth gleamy dreamy tone fit perfect for what I was thinking of. The third eye itself was taken from another shot from the same shooting, same position, eyes (the two) wide open. I then worked both eyes together to create a new one that would be symmetric. This new one was cut out, fine tuned, re-colored and added to the previous shot. Then I had to invest some time into blending and that is what came out.
My visit to Sundarbans was primarily reserved for BWKF besides the Royal Bengal Tiger. While both are rarities my luck turned the other way for RBT, but fortunately favoured the BWKF which I was looking for. And thus it became my 10th jewel of my portfolio, out of 12 seen in Indian subcontinent that makes 2 short. Large sized KF and has an extra-large orange red bill similar to the stork bill kingfisher, but lacks its brown cap. The entire head and underparts are brownish- orange. The wings are completely brownish right up to the tail with a prominent turquoise blue rump. Size is same as Stork bill which is 35cms.
Resident of East India, found along coast, mangrove swamps, tidal rivers and creeks.
Bird ID: Brown winged Kingfisher
