Burgos's great Gothic cathedral, the third largest in Spain, was founded in 1221 and constructed over a period of more than 300 years. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it is the last resting place of the great Spanish hero, El Cid. This photograph is of the mid 18th century New Sacristy, a good example of the Baroque style at its most exuberant.

Our tradition is family donuts and presents first thing on your birthday.

In the Hope Valley, Derbyshire, heading from Castleton towards Mam Tor just before the heavens opened. Within 10 minutes both myself and buddy, Richard were soaked to the skin, literally. Photography was not an option and the wind was so strong the rain felt like hail. Mam Tor was not climbed.
