The third edition of Beyond Eden Art Fair opened to Los Angeles fair goers the first weekend of October. From all accounts this was the place to be, billed as a " multi-gallery event celebrating the New Contemporary Art Movement". Beyond Eden was presented by Lee Joseph Publicity for the Visual Arts, Warholian, Arrested Motion, Blik Wall Graphics, Color Ink Book, Daily Dujour, Hi-Fructose, Juxtapoz, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery Associates (LAMAGA), Sketch Theater, and Sour Harvest was free to the general public.

This is my piece for Thinkspace Gallery's upcoming show benefiting endangered animals. It opens Jan 8th.
"Remora (and her Ornate Eagle Rays)"
14" x 20" (1" depth)
watercolor and gouache
Remora are the suckerfish things that swim with/attach to sharks and rays. Most images I saw of these rays have remora around them, so I incorporated those, and made the central figure a remora of sorts as well, intertwining with the tails of the rays.
Special thanks to my fiance, Reed, for suggesting these gorgeous rays to paint. More info on them here: www.earthsendangered.com/profile.asp?ID=3&sp=1782
