Pic taken at Sunnys Studio and Mall using city life

Wishing all my Flickr friends, who celebrate Thanksgiving a wonderful and peaceful day.

Sitting here which is normal but I tend to think a lot when I am sitting. Lately it has been about where my life is going, what am I going to be when I grow up and who is going to be in my life then.

I have met a lot of great people and have met some that I regard as not so great in my time. I will say this, yes I may not be around as much but if you're going to come into my life make damned sure that you can bring value to it as I will do the same for you. If you're going to come in and stop being my friend when I do something that you don't like then don't waste your time.

I have a lot of great people in my life and I only keep those around that make me smile, or do something good for me. If that sounds selfish then I don't care. We all need to be surrounded by people that are good for us. We all need friends that will stick by us through everything good and bad, easy and hard. I don't have time for people that are only there for the good times, I want people that are there through it all.

I took this photo with the Enjoy The Little Things Pose

but at the moment happy just to see the scenery close to our town, Dunedin, NZ. Hope your Sunday goes well. We only have 10 minutes of it left here.

Thanks for visiting!

Street portrait captured 'candidly' during a session under interview for a major advertising client in London, England in February 2019. A black and white edit of one of the shots, this one not being used in the final campaign. Enjoy!

Two days ago there was a mud slide in Seyðisfjörður , that swept away first one house and later (at a second "wave") ten more houses.

It's not so easy to find information about this but those I found I've included in the comment.

I have been there twice because the ferry from Iceland to Denmark starts here.

Many of you might have seen pictures of the rainbow pavement leaving to the blue church

How does this night will end?

And the sun will shine then...

I'm thinking of you!

Where would you be my love?

Does he vigils like me?

Does he call for me as I do for him?

Does he ask about me?

Where would be my love?

If the voice of the night at least answer me...

Where am I?

Where are you?

We are inside us...

Alone...

If the voice of the night silence...

Sunbeam will take me...

Sunbeam will bring you...

Where would you be my love?

While waiting for the sun to rise on the banks of a perfectly calm Patoka Lake, something devoured something else. If I had to guess, I would go with a larger fish took a much smaller one who was swimming near the surface. It was the distinctive gulp sound that caught my ear and directed my eyes to this lone bubble with the smallest of ripples departing its base.

As I viewed and photographed the bubble, shown here, I remember thinking “Why in the hell did you just photograph a bubble?” It was while editing that it hit me that it is the last remnant of a life…and like that life, it will only be here for a short while.

Adventure before our lone bubble.

A night in the deep forest, again with my headlights of the car, heavy fog and my favorite equipment. This is the right time to think about life and the nice moments on a warm island.

The Composer has written a magnificent hymn for the choir to sing. The melody is exalted, and the rhythm is the pulse of creation itself. The musicians are taking their seats, tuning instruments of every kind. Heavenly angels have fanned out their wings around us all, ready to join us with glorious harmonies. Having waited for the last two thousand years, the conductor has lifted the baton and is ready to lead us. We are members of a single choir, a single orchestra—each in our own section, each with our own special part. Are we finally ready to sing?

I was going through my last saved shoot of a wonderful experience with bald eagles. On this date, December 23, 2019, I probably had my best day with a bald eagle posing on a snag tree for the longest time. It had come in wet from fishing and was putting on a show. Since then, the eagles have raised two eaglets, one who survived and fledged in April. They'll hopefully be back this fall and I'll be there, for sure.

Thanks for visiting and for your faves and comments.

If you'd like to see more of my eagle images, go to schockenphotography.com. I have many images of eagles and other raptors as well as owls, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, songbirds and an interesting set of images of a bobcat with prey. I also have a full section on birds in flight which is my specialty.

Happy Wednesday

In our garden and around the village there are some welcome harbingers of better days to come in Spring including the iris flowers coming up in the garden and our mimosa tree just about to blossom and the many almond trees in and around the village which are beginning to blossom. It made me dig into my archives to find a photo which I took in the garden last May which I zizzed up the colour vibrancy in anticipation of better days to come.

Have a great week ahead!
