On the stroke of midnight, four racing cars and a truck speed along the road towards "the end of the world". They move so quickly as if they are having a race. On the other hand, a yellow car appears relaxed and strolls down the street in the morning ...

On the brink of an extended war โ the climate crisis, wild weather, natural disasters โ it's time to think about something else on a Sunday in November โ Think about something else โ escape from reality on a Sunday in November
Looking North towards Kentmere.
After severe flash floods in Kendal 4 hours earlier, the storm cleared the air a little. I headed up to Scout Scar to make the most of the interesting skies. Whilst I was up there, the clouds moved swiftly and the low sun cast a lovely light, whilst clouds still hung over the high fells to the north and dark clouds backed the Howgills.
I tried what I'd been led to believe gave a pretty deep DOF on an Oly (f8) but with my longer lens, it just wasn't getting the front to back sharpness we need for the module. So I experimented a bit and found that f11 or f13 seemed to give the best balance. I used the rule of thumb of focusing about 1/3 of the way into the picture. A couple of shots I think I focussed too close, so the distance was just a little soft.

I think this is Biscuit or Sweet Potato, one of three tabby kittens in the same *apartment* together at Heartland Humane Society. I'll post a "normal" photo of her in a few minutes.

I think my cactus is confused. It's blooming while we're in mid-winter and it's snowy and cold. I'm not sure what kind of cactus this is, but it has grown a lot in the time we've had it - at least 15 years.
I think the tower is livelier when seen from an angle.
St Paul's church was built in the 1790s to the design of Daniel Hague. Rather shallow gothick outside; broadly classical inside. It was restored in the early 2000s for the Churches Conservation Trust and is now the home to Circomedia, a circus training centre.
I visited the church as part of Bristol Doors Open Day.
Think the shape of these sculptures is rather suited to London skyline views - dont think this will be the only one!
Inspiring rust, peeling paint on trains - photos taken in winter of 2007 but waiting until just the special time to share - Enjoy :>)
