I do. Constantly.

People say that age is merely a number. I know I've gone over this subject again and again but it troubles me a lot.

I had my dad over to visit this morning and he mentioned my cousin in Seattle who is going to be 60 this year. 60!! This is the hippy who I think of as a similar age to myself - and he is. Well, he has 9 years on me but I can't get my head around the fact that he'll be 60.

I can't get my head around the fact that I'm now 51.

I hate it. It depresses me because when I look at photos of me I don't see a 51 year old. I don't feel 51 in my head. I don't even feel like I can make adult decisions like a normal 51 year old should.

It's my youngest daughter's birthday next week. She'll be 25. My eldest is 28 this year. I don't know why I think I can get away with feeling like I'm a 23 year old any more but I see my age written down, or have to say it out loud, and I feel my heart sink.

Is it just me fooling myself? And am I really ageist because I think I must be. That can't be ME who's that old woman. It hasn't happened to me. Really, I can't emphasise strongly enough how much I hate being 'old' in a young person's world.

And I know you've all told me it makes no difference, but there must be some people reading this who feel the same way I do.

I'm not looking for sympathy or reassurance, I just want to know if others feel the same - that they don't know where the last 20 or 30 years went and how unfair it all feels.

This has turned into a rant. I'm sorry.

This is the first of a series of photos I plan to do with a wooden artists model. I've always found these models to be very interesting and couldn't help but imagine them doing the things we do. So I decided what better way to practice my compositing skills than to do a series of photos of wooden mannequins doing things.

I don't think landscapes get any simpler. You very well might not like this one and I won't blame you. I however fell for it immediately, both at the scene and in front of the monitor. From one of my walkabouts with the newly aquired Zeiss Planar 1,4/85 ZE. It's true to life colour rendition continues to impress, as well as it's complete lack of distortion. This photo is 100% SOOC, straight out of camera.

At Willow Grove Day Camp in Willow Grove PA we think it is important to allow children to express themselves in every way possible. By interacting with each other the children strengthen relationships and build self-confidence. Through out the summer our campers host several Theater shows. The children put on plays and talent shows that include singing, dancing, and a whole lot of fun. Our campers have the opportunity to dress up in costumes and show off their talents. Our most popular show of the summer is "So you think you can dance"

Yes I think I am an handsome boy!!

Dutch:

Roek,

Bron Wikipedia

Think Pink from Funny Face collection

If someone were to tell you that in the heart of Kings Cross sits a lighthouse, you’d probably think their head was lost at sea! But unbeknownst to many Londoners is that there actually IS a lighthouse, sitting in quiet dereliction opposite Kings Cross St Pancras Station Square. Gracing the top of an otherwise ordinary Victorian building is a charming lighthouse style turret, making it one of the more enigmatic local landmarks. Having lain derelict for over 20 years, it is invisible to most as simply yet another run down building. Understandable while traversing 6 lanes of traffic to catch the delayed 18:05 back to Southend!

he building occupies an important road junction between Gray’s Inn Road, Pentonville Road, York Way and Euston Road, giving it a Flatiron type presence on the intersection. Despite the prominent location, many tend to miss the lighthouse because it gives nothing away about its own history. Even the blue plaque on the ground level must be hands down the most indecisive blue plaque in London, throwing up more questions than answers, reading, “Oysters were once sold here…or was that a fairground?” It shows that there are many stories about the lighthouse’s construction and use throughout its history, but that none can be verified and many are tall tales. Other guesses for its original use include a helter skelter, clock tower and even a camera obscura.

The most enduring and “official” view is that the lighthouse was built to promote Netten’s oyster bar, which occupied the ground floor. Oysters were a type of Victorian fast food, a sort of McDonalds of their day. Perhaps it was nothing more than an urban folly, serving no purposeful function other than ornamentation? Like all the other stories this one is no more reputable and is often thought to be unlikely. What is likely however is that no one will ever know its past function. Apart from why it was built, no one actually knows when it was built. A quick search on the Internet brings up references mostly to 1884, but 1875 is often mentioned as well.

The Think Tank located within the Brayford Enterprise Park, on the historically important site used for the prototype testing of the original military tank.

The tank affiliation has informed the design and name of the building, as well as all the signage and building logo. One elevation has track-like staggered walls replicating tank treads, whilst the main entrance elevation has the curves and rivets that emulate a tank turret. In addition the choice of Rockpanel Chameleon as the exterior cladding gives the building a multi-coloured, camouflage-like quality that changes its tone from greens, bronze and black according to daylight levels.

With the University of Lincoln’s future expansion the Think Tank is set to be part of the University’s campus. On Ruston Way, Lincoln, Lincolnshire.

THINK TANK UMBRIA 2010

Todi

Palazzo del Vignola

25 - 26 Novembre 2K10

(b) i metodi competitivi sviluppati

(c) le nuove competenze di base.

Yeeeeeah, I finally got my 430 EX II

I had to wait for about 10 day's and I think that's a lot!

So I took my first "real" strobist picture (I put this in quotation marks cause I did a few testshots first). At the last week I was short of sleep so I decided to take more sleep today and than I had the idea of this shot... I'm glad that I preferred the picture and not the sleep!

strobist info:

430 EX II bounced of a half orange half yellow portfolio (haha) to create the right light tone on my face. Triggered with 7D wireless flash trigger.

Y' know, every now and then

I think you might like to hear something from us

Nice and easy

But there's just one thing

You see we never ever do nothing

Nice and easy

We always do it nice and rough

So we're gonna take the beginning of this song

And do it easy

Then we're gonna do the finish rough

This is the way we do "Proud Mary"

(And we're) rolling, rolling, rolling on the river

Listen to the story now

I left a good job in the city

Working for the man every night and day

And I never lost one minute of sleeping

worrying 'bout the way things might have been

Big wheel keep on turning

Oh the proud mary keep on burning

And we’re rolling, rolling

Rolling on the river

Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis

Pumped a lot of tane down in New Orleans

But I never saw the good side of the city

Until I hitched a ride on a riverboat queen

Big wheel keep on turning

Oh the proud mary keep on burning

And we’re rolling, rolling yeah

Rolling on the river

[repeat song from here once]

If you come down to the river

I bet you gonna find some people who live

You don’t have to worry if you got no money

People on the river are happy to give

Big wheel keep on turning

Proud mary keep on burning

And we're rolling, rolling

Rolling on the river.

This was my first chance to shoot with the lovely Jacey - what a great young lady! Jacey brought a lot of energy and ideas with her to one of our small group shoots. She loves Retro and Vintage themes so we shot her in a Flapper outfit and Heather's bodice. Fun shoot - I hope we get to shoot with her again.

I dont think i will ever forget trying to order my monograms last year lol, they sold out so fast and being a newbie i didnt really know what to do lol but i was so lucky to at least get some that i wanted :P

nothing is for sale

this is just pics of my NRFB collection :P

I don't think this headline says quite what the Met wanted it to say. It sounds like they are warning the burglars to beware not warning the populace to beware of burglars. I think they wanted some punctuation in there. Something like "Burglars. Beware!" perhaps.

Still, quite a worrying sign to see at the end of your road.

The famous thinker. This area was gated off. But I wasn't satisfied with the shots I was getting from outside the gate, so I hopped over and snapped a few.

(The photo is staged)... The outline: Drink responsible and Think bout the consequences... lol or sumfin

Think the owner of this fresh fish shop thought I was mad when he saw me take this shot.
