I’m hurt having to write this post. As a kid I grew up running around seeing Robin Williams on TV in “Mork & Mindy“. I was a 70′s baby, and 80′s kid and through-out those generations Robin Williams was one of the celebrities I just had an affection for. Someone...

Same deal as this one, I don't remember where I got this one. It has "Mac OS" repeating down the band. I can't even find this one online so far.

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward.

And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

...keeps the doctor away.

Unfortunately our god (geek's god) died last night. As the Apple's slogan says:

Keep thinking different.

Steve Jobs had secured his place in the pantheon of industrial design as one of its most influential figures of the last century.

Running the Think Different application. Yes, the whole commercial has sound too. Glee!

A part of my current setup, although I've shuffled a lot of it around whilst I work on the Mac Mini project. Still got the iMac, eMac, PowerBook G4 sitting on the other side of the room.

This image dedicated to my daughter, Nicole. She's turns 8 today (10.26.06)

A tribute to Steve P. Jobs : 1955-2011.

Apple revived its groundbreaking Think Different advertising campaign, which featured images of great people and creative thinkers of our time, for one day only on October 26 2005 to mark the passing of Rosa Parks, the black woman who in 1955 refused to give up her seat for a white bus passenger. This action started a chain of events that brought about the end of legally enforced segregation of blacks and whites in the US.

It isn't easy being green.

In preparation for the iPad 3 coming out this year with its Retina display, I thought it would be fun to recreate Apple's old "Think different" logo, at 2048 x 2048 resolution. Of course, I added some embellishments of my own, such as shading, gradients, glows and the blue and purple keynote curtains in the background. But the end result is pretty faithful to the original artwork.

This is a traced version of an actual ad for Apple Computer that came out sometime in the mid or late '80s. Anyway, I saw this sometime when I was in the ninth grade on a wall in a computer lab. I think it was kept up on the wall as a collectible.

Note: I do not own the original ad. The original ad is owned by Apple Computer, Inc. You can find the real ad on Google Images or some other website and type "Jim Henson Apple ad" or "Jim Henson Kermit Apple."

Renault Avantime by MATRA: A coupe-cabriolet-MPV concept for unique driving pleasure and traveling comfort.

Today, Avantime is a precious find for collectors of rarities!

The Avantime was designed and developed in-house by Renault affiliate Matra and was conceived by Philippe Guédon, head of the automotive division at Matra, who "believed that the children of Espace owners remained loyal to the car even after they had grown up and left home. As a result, the renowned MPV was gaining a generation of new drivers."

Styled by Patrick Le Quément, the Avantime was intended to combine the space of an MPV with four-place pillarless qualities of a coupé. Regarding the styling, Thierry Metroz, design project manager, said, "We wanted someone walking around the car to be continually astonished."

The one-box design eliminated B-pillars and featured an aluminum structure, aluminum panels for the greenhouse and a full sunroof of strengthened heat-reflecting glass. The interior featured four seats each with built-in seatbelts and Bridge of Weir leather. To facilitate access to the rear seats, two long doors featured a double parallel-opening hinge system (marketed as "double-kinematic") that maximized access with minimal outswing of the doors. Front side windows lowered automatically when either of the front seats folded forward to further facilitate entry to the rear two seats.[6] Windows featured power-deployable sunshades, and the H-points of the rear two seats were higher than the forward two seats, giving the Avantime "theater seating." The luggage compartment featured a retaining system using retractable straps, and all Avantimes featured a two-tone look created by the exposed aluminium of the greenhouse. The windows and panoramic sunroof could open automatically via a single, headliner mounted control, to give the Avantime an 'open air' mode.

The design borrowed the automotive space frame of the first generation Renault Espace (load bearing galvanized structure with non-load bearing composite panels) utilizing Renault's 24 valve, 207 hp (152 kW) 3.0L V6 engine was coupled to a 6-speed transmission.
