I think it's this! Had I known more about ID-ing this beetle when I found it, I'd have flipped it on it's back to see if it had dark marks on its orange abdomen. But the dark knee on the hind femur is possibly big enough for an ID. Please correct me if not so. Thanks!

Not an official Northwestern shirt, but the slogan is certainly appropriate -- it's a Yahoo! giveaway shirt.

Planning out the next shot.

Players of Call of Duty can create their own "player emblems" using a library of clip art and basic shapes. The results are not as classy as you might expect.

Nothing much to do today but think.........I think?

This is day #1 for my project365 challenge.

Every year, tens of thousands participate in the Komen race/walk to raise money for breast cancer research.

Groups or teams usually dress in at least matching t-shirts with witty slogans. Sometimes, however, teams like to add a bit more style to the mile (or to the 5k to be accurate).

I think Rudolph's wife was named Olive... Like in "Olive the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names."

Think about the love inside the strength of heart, think about the heroes saving life in the dark.

Think about the chance I never had to say, thank you for giving up your life that day.

A few hundred pictures shot at the zoo, and of course only a few usable shots. Thats ok... this one was one of the most compelling ones, not because of any skill on my part, but because HIS pose caused me to stop and think. True, he didn't have his hand under his chin, but after observing him for a few minutes, I certainly did.. Shot at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida.

Being from Michigan, I'm not naturally a Dodgers fan (nor will I ever be). However, of all the MLB games I've been to -- and if you've been looking at my MLB collection, you'll see I've been to quite a few different games/stadiums -- two of the best games I've ever been to? Dodgers.

The first was 23 years ago in Montreal (yep...I've even been to an Expos home game), that the Dodgers won 2-1 in a pitchers' duel between brothers. Here's the box score from that game:

Then today (7 August 2019), they won on a two out, walk off single that drove in two runs. Final score? Again, 2-1, with a terrific pitchers' duel. Here's the box score:

The starter from the 1996 game was Pedro Martinez, one of the most dominant pitchers of his era. Today, the Dodgers trotted out their rookie (who they hope will be a phenom), Dustin May, making his second career MLB start. He pitched well enough to win, giving up a solo home run in the 6th, yet was on the hook for the loss until the last pitch of the game. (The Cardinals really screwed the pooch in the bottom of the 9th...)

It was a beautiful game between two historic franchises at what's currently the third-oldest park in the major leagues.

Going through the box of old photos.

I need photos of the family for my new book but trying to identify the people I need to add is proving difficult.
