"We don't conquer anything, and there is nothing to fight."

Don't rightly know who said it, but they are right.

For anyone who has or is currently going through their own private Hell for whatever reason. Keep your chins up and reach out for yourself and others.

Day 271 of 365 (Saturday) - Today was largely spent in charity shops, trying to put together an outfit for my son to wear on Tuesday, when he has to look like a boy from 1666. We visited every single charity shop in town, got an outfit, and the children used some of their saved money to treat themselves to some books too. In one shop my son was deliberating heavily over which of three Star Wars books to buy - each costing £1.50 - and overhearing our conversation a kind hearted worker there said he could have all three for £1.50! He was, and still is on cloud nine about it!

We then went to the beach and I noticed that my camera wasn't working as it should. I'd noticed it the last few days, but it was particularly noticeable on dire daffs day as I'd tried to take some street shots and the auto focus just wouldn't work. I'd actually put it down to being some error of mine. I made the same assumption today, figuring my hands were too shaky, or I'd got the settings wrong... I took a more scientific approach to try and workout if it was the lens or the camera, and realised it was only further away things and only on auto focus that there was a problem. I bit the bullet and headed back in town to the camera shop there. We identified the problem and since that shop charges £25 just to send it away I'm heading to a local shop on Monday to try and get them to clean and fix it. Although this option costs me financially I am actually so relieved the problem does not lie with me afterall! I can't wait to get it back to its normal self hitting the streets with me, fingers crossed it won't be long.

With street photography too you just capture a moment. This guy looks worried - but perhaps he was just thinking about which restaurant to take his love to that night, or waiting for some news on the phone and he was all smiles round the corner. Who knows. Things change. I love though that with strangers and street shots there is that ambiguity and the moment is able to linger. I hope he's having a good Saturday night, and I hope you do too.
