A man passing remnants of The Wall in the East Side Gallery Berlin, Germany. Wall paintings by Thierry Noir.

A series of candid street portraits from a visit to Berlin. i felt for colour and headed to one of my places in town. Here is also a wider shot from this section from 2 years ago.

It was possible to notice me (albeit behind a barrier from a building site) and that has influenced the outcome somewhat. Some people waited, and i did not photograph. Others just passed by without noticing, or oblivious anways, or posed for someone else taking a pic of them. Hope you enjoy these as i do, i liked quite a few and think they work well together as a series :)

A pedestrian walks past a painting by French artist Thierry Noir at the East Side Gallery, a 1.3km long section of the Berlin Wall painted in 1990 on its Eastern side by 105 artists from around the globe. The piece, consisting of brightly coloured cartoon heads, is entitled “Hommage an die junge Generation”. Noir is said to be the first person to paint the Berlin wall and was also part of the 2009 initiative to restore the paintings of the East Side Gallery.

..."is that what they think of us round here is it ....Gormless & Goofy"...so said the local in the mobility scooter as i snapped this work by Thierry Noir on the South Action Estate.

Maybe Gormless & Goofy were a Music Hall act...who knows...
