Arches National Park is just amazing, and when you get the right sky there, it becomes just super breathtaking ... was very lucky to get this weather passing through at sunset ... given it was 102 degrees F.

This is a 5 stitch image taken when in Arches two years ago. Had one heck of a sunset with rainbow, etc ... this is the view looking east with the clouds all lit up at sunset. A glorious time to be there for sure.

Here is a capture taken on the pretty sunset in Arches ... that was not a long exposure. Hence you can see all the people that were there enjoying the pretty view too ... I was the only one though up on this high ledge to get this classic view of Turret Arch through the North Window Arch. When I hiked past all of them to get to this spot, they were all wondering where I was heading off too and why ...

The long exposure I took here were nice as most of the people were moving around, and this vanished from the frame.

The sun had set, but warm light from the western sky was shining back on the impressive arches and red rocks, and looked pretty nice against the blue hour sky what was taking over as the stars started to come out.

North and South Windows under the Milky Way last night. It was magical there in the darkness. Perfect temperature to hike in, and very very quiet. Quite the difference from sunset, when lots of people would be around.

For this 30 second exposure, the three sitting there in the side of the North Window held pretty still. Nice of them :)

This rock window at Point D'Entrecasteaux on the south coast of Western Australia lies near Windy Harbour, the only place in D'Entrecasteaux National Park with 2WD access to the coast. The point was named after the French Admiral Bruni D'Entrecasteaux who was the first European to sight the area and name Point D'Entrecasteaux in 1792. The area has remained remote and has changed little since.

... near sunset. One of my most favorite spots in the world. Was just amazing to have these clouds around and the sun peak out just as it was setting. If you have not been to Arches National Park before ... a must to add to your list.

The comet Neowise was almost visible here, but the main portion was below the rocks.

Morning approaches there in Arches National Park in The Windows area. An amazing place, and an amazing morning to be there in the summer.

Here is the bulb capture taken at the North Window "ledge" to catch Turret Arch in the view. Not too sure about this compared to the 30s exposure, as in this view tight to the arch, the far off clouds that are in the view do not have that much "apparent" motion.

In the morning the yellow sun was lighting up, here and there, the sleepy windows. I like to follow up and down the streets and think about the people who lived here long time ago. I enjoyed walking until my feet led me suddenly come to a dark corner. I got lost…. Where is my map? - Where are the sleepy windows?

Here is a three stitch image taken with the 17mm while I was taking the 10mm long exposures there on the tripod. You can see in this handheld capture what the incredible sunset colors there was then ... as well as the people that were standing in the arch. In the really long exposures they people vanish as they were at least walking around. I do like shots with the people though, as they give you a real sense of the scale of this fabulous rock features that nature has created for us.

This was certainly a memorable sunset for 2013 ;)

Long exposure as night takes over the remaining glow of light from the west bathes the rocks there that are The Windows.

With these early evening clouds streaming by the arches ... you can envision them doing their carving of the sandstone.
