This is Ashtree Farm B&B in the South Cotswolds. It is in the middle of meadows with grazing sheep and extensive views. This is my idea of rural England!

It isn't a working farm anymore but the owner does possess some tractors. We stayed there for a week and were really happy: you get a very neat bedroom + shower, and a large living room with several settees, a TV and a beautiful oak breakfast table at your disposal - just for the guests! There is a large garden with garden furniture you can use.

The lady who runs the place is extremely friendly, willing to help you out in many ways. She even made it possible for us to visit a manor that was normally only open to groups.

Leighterton village with its pub is within walking distance but we'd say you do need a car when you're staying there. That way you can go to several pubs and restaurants in neighbouring villages and towns. We liked Malmsbury, Tetbury, Castle Combe - and of course, Bath.

I'd like to add that I'm only saying these positive things because the lady was so friendly - it's not that I'm getting anything out of this!

This photo and the previous one in my stream were taken from the same spot: the centre of the small Cotswold village of Leighterton near Tetbury, in 'The Street'. We were staying there at Ashtree Farm B&B.

St Andrew's Church was originally built in the 13th century. [Explored on 11/08/2022, #391]

This is 'The Street' in Leighterton, a small Cotswold village. The house is Ashtree Farm, where we were staying.

To me it's funny that this rural one track road is called 'The Street': we used to learn that 'streets' usually had houses on one side or both sides and 'roads' connected towns. Well, this street goes on a long way and mostly has fields on either side.

We liked our stay at Ashtree Farm, as I've said before.

1st man "Who do you like best, Warhol or Camus"?

2nd Man "What team do they play for"?

This is the village we stayed at in the South Cotswolds: Leighterton, just a handful of houses, a pub and a nice church. Oh yes, and a duck pond too.

I liked the quiet, the typical Cotswold houses and the friendly people. And the fact that the main street - this one - is just called 'The Street'!

In the morning the yellow sun was lighting up, here and there, the sleepy windows. I like to follow up and down the streets and think about the people who lived here long time ago. I enjoyed walking until my feet led me suddenly come to a dark corner. I got lost…. Where is my map? - Where are the sleepy windows?

Street photography in rural North Norfolk can be a little different. Finding other people can often be a problem. This photo is a reflection in a puddle and taken on a road called The Street between the villages of Fulmodeston and Barney in North Norfolk, England.
