My first 5 sighthounds (except Lady my first greyhound). Rhia, Fern, Kali, Charliy and number one special dog, Shasta. I'm amazed I managed to get them all together with a film camera, it's hard enough with 3!!! Fern is looking away, but that fits in with her character, she was always looking to run off :-)

I'd like to see the world for once

All standing hand in hand

And hear them echo through the hills

For peace through out the land

(That's the song I hear)

I'd like to teach the world to sing

You may have noticed that I take a lot of self portraits with my pets.

I'm not sure if this because I find my pets photogenic, I love them so much and want to remember them always or because there is a kind of peace and therapy in being in front of the camera by yourself that is very much broken by other humans yet amplified by the presence of an animal.

Some call them badlands, but I’ve come to appreciate the beauty and stillness of places that others regard as barren wasteland.

Snaefellsnes Peninsula, Iceland.

Thank you to a good friend who encouraged me to revisit these images. I'm sorry he'll never see them but I hope he'd have liked them.

Nehemiah 8:10 NIV Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

John 16:22 NIV So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

These are called Resurrection Ferns. They were on the old Camphor Tree out front the first year I moved here (2013) and since cut down. I cannot for the life of me remember what happened that motivated my choice in this two verses way back then ... but I'm leaving them as is. God knows ...

We will stop watching nature for a moment.

Today again a photo from the streets of my city.

Walking down the street, I saw these two people riding a scooter. They seemed to be close to each other and going forward. I picked up the camera and quickly panned this photo.

It's just that everyone has a story in time, and these paths sometimes meet, they pass.

The Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis) belongs to the genus Branta of black geese, which contains species with largely black plumage, distinguishing them from the grey Anser species.

The Barnacle Goose is a medium-sized goose, 55 - 70 cm long, with a wingspan of 130 - 145 cm and a weight of 1.2 - 2.2 kg. It has a white face and black head, neck, and upper breast. Its belly is white. The wings and its back are silver-gray with black-and-white bars that look like they are shining when the light reflects on it. It flies in packs and long lines, with a noisy chorus of barking or yapping sounds.

Barnacle geese feed on grasses and coastal plants found in salt marshes, grasslands near river estuaries or tidal mud flats.

The wintering population (130.000 birds) in the Netherlands breeds in Arctic Russia and the Baltic.

This picture was taken at the Lauwersmeer, a man-made lake in the north of the Netherlands, on the border of the provinces of Groningen and Friesland. The lake was formed on 1969, when the dike between the bay called Lauwerssea" and the Waddensea was closed. The Lauwersmeer is now one of the famoust birding areas in Western Europe. The area is famous for the huge numbers of birds. During the winter months the Lauwersmeer is famous for the huge numbers of geese. You will see thousands of Barnacle Geese, White Fronted Geese, Greylag Geese and also good numbers of Bean Geese, Brant, Tundra Swan and Whooper Swan.

For The Fallen ~ www.greatwar.co.uk/poems/laurence-binyon-for-the-fallen.htm

Poem by Robert Laurence Binyon (1869-1943), published in The Times newspaper on 21 September 1914.

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,

England mourns for her dead across the sea.

Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,

Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal

Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.

There is music in the midst of desolation

And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,

Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.

They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,

They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;

They sit no more at familiar tables of home;

They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;

They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,

Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,

To the innermost heart of their own land they are known

As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,

Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain,

As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,

To the end, to the end, they remain.

When I had spotted them from above I was not sure if she was homeless and finding a spot away from people or not. When I came by later on my walk and spoke with her she said she gets that a lot. It was just a favorite quiet place to enjoy the sunset. She said when the road is not blocked off, cars and all sorts of folks gather down at the waters edge.

Lee had recently graduated from college and had an online graduation ceremony in 2020. A very different experience and one it sounds she did not enjoy so much after devoting so much time into her degree.

Her dog, Chloe, works as an emotional support dog for one of the local elementary schools. She was protective of Lee, but put at ease when Lee called her back. A gentle big dog.

The large red-orange-colored beak of these shorebirds help reach into mollusks and pry them open on beaches and mud flats. Matching orange eye-line is very prominent. Black head and dark brown back; white wing and tail patches, white underparts. Both sexes of similar size and identical plumage. The juvenile has a black tip on an otherwise orange beak. In addition to catching oysters, the Oystercatcher also probes sand for worms and crabs.

In this maddening mating/alerting call, the bird raises it tail feathers, dilates its eyes and runs wildly, while emitting a high-pitched, sharp, and incisive call. I waited for nearly two and half hours for this action shot and the bird finally obliged!

Know how to tell the female from the male; Observe the eyes.

I've been going through my Rainier images, and decided that I couldn't wait to post this one. Quiet, moody landscapes speak to the heart of me. The way the stillness wraps around a person, the way the mind calms, the breath slows. I am a quiet person in general, and I think that something about these landscapes resounds with me.

THE SEASON OF STRAWBERRIES

Fruits and vegetables are essential foods to fill up on vitamins and minerals, as well as essential substances to strengthen the immune system. They are often eaten raw and therefore it is necessary to respect accurate hygiene practices on how to wash and disinfect them, to safeguard one's health.

In fact, being grown in the open air, potentially pathogenic germs and other chemical substances can deposit on their surfaces starting from the production phase, and continue to become contaminated during collection, preparation and storage in environments that can favor the proliferation of microorganisms.

A wig, a mask, and some black eyeshadow. Three different looks. I like them all too much to choose which to publish, so I'm publishing all three and looking for you all to tell me which is your favorite look and why. Please and thank you. :)

And as a side note, I think I'm getting sicker again. I was feeling so much better on Tuesday that I was sure I was through the worst of it. But yesterday I felt a little bit worse again, and this morning I'm feeling even worse than yesterday. A friend of mine told me that's one of the signs of H1N1, the whole feeling better and then getting worse again, so now I'm freaking out that I have the stupid swine flu. And could it possibly have worse timing, whatever this is? I'm supposed to be partying with some ridiculously cool flickr people on Saturday and if I have to miss it because of this, I'm going to be a flaming ball of fury.

Listen The Legend Of Kristy Lynn - Rudy Adrian

The success of the Cistercian adventure is what actually accounts for Poblet. Cister was founded in 1098, and Poblet in 1151, less than a hundred years later. Both the 12th and 13th centuries are essential to the history of our monastery. Most rooms and buildings were, in fact, finished during those centuries : a space, both beautiful and functional, whereby to seek God. Such a space has come down to us virtually intact. The 14th century was a century of great achievements, but also that of the decline, slow but sure. We must point out that the known records of the time, and which refer to the private life of the community of Poblet, don’t show any noticeable deviations from the original ideals of the founders of Cister and, likewise, the founders of Poblet, who originated from Fontfroide. In fact, this, which is the true history of Poblet, has never been written and probably never will. The history of the monks who, day after day, made the growth and continuity of the house possible, the domus Populeti. Thus we could explain the succession of the days and years over the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th centuries: Poblet, the institution, the community, its monks, all hasten to find a new visage, new features, forms different from what they intimately live in their hearts. Not always, though, will they succeed in doing so with the transparency and vigour of the first ideal. The 19th century will sow, in a society going through radical changes, the seed of a future recovery, in spite of the abandonment and subsequent plunder of the monastery. A recovery that, along with the monks in 1940, brought back that old way of life, purer, truer, more deeply Benedictine and, therefore, more evangelical. Today the monks, the ancestral ones’ heirs, are perpetually grateful for this legacy, because authenticity is possibly one of the most important values that we can and must offer the men and women of our time.

We haven’t spoken of illustrious abbots of Poblet, nor of counts, kings, nor constructions… We like to think it is humility that writes history, the true history, which is something the tomb slab of a former abbot of Poblet makes overwhelmingly ostensible. The tomb slab of that abbot, fray Vicenç Ferrer, who died in 1411, was put right in front of the Chapter House so that everybody steps on it upon entering or leaving the room, and where we can read a sole revealing inscription: Miserere mei Deus secundum magnam misericordiam tuam [God, have mercy on me in Thy great mercy], borrowed from Psalm 50, the psalm with which St. Benedict tells us to start our daily morning praise, at daybreak, and at which he wants a most scrupulous attendance (cf The Rule of St. Benedict 13,2). A prayer that we, like abbot Ferrer, should make ours, with confidence and gratitude, because after all, the monk’s life is summed up in this unrestrained abandonment to God: «and never to despair of God’s mercy» (The Rule of St. Benedict 4, 73).

Here is an interesting one that I am looking forward to exploring some more this year when I am seeing them out again.

At first glance they seem very much like they are intruda signata but after a few different angles of a male it seems not. So I will try my best to capture a load of different images this year.

With so much around we have learned a great deal but it is only a small portion of what we have left to discover.

A lot of people are grossed out or scared of spiders which is a learned behavior. There has been all sorts of great findings in venom. Imagine if one spider yet to be discovered held the keys to eradicating cancer cells? I bet that would change everyone's perspective about them.

I do this Photography for the art side of it and the sharing results and knowledge. Discovering new things is a pleasant bonus that comes with effort and maybe one day I will be able to get out on a few bigger trips where not many have gone but for now the urban parklands and reserves in my town will suffice.

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)

16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Located on a hill Universales Mountains, is the medieval city sits on the isthmus and the peninsula formed by the river Guadalaviar. It is surrounded on its four-fifths of a deep pit that makes defensive moat, complemented by the imposing walls of belt leading to the castle of the walkway.

Has abundant monuments as the Church of Santa Maria, Cathedral, Palacio Episcopal, some noble mansions, among which that of Monterde, and a peculiar architectural style dominated the Julianeta house, the house of the street Azagra, the square of the Community and small and evocative Square.

But the charm of Albarracín is primarily in the layout of its streets adapted to the difficult topography of the ground, stairs and passageways and into the walls of his village of irregular reddish, half-timbered, in a difficult balance, with eaves that are played. A distinctive feature of the city of Albarracín respect to the peoples of the Sierra is the abundant use of structures with half-timbered and plaster tabicones that confers red color to the set. The cast material is typical in Albarracin, more even than the stone. The architecture of wood and plaster is lighter than the stone, which reduces the volume of materials used, and if the city saves the cost of the work by the difficulty of access for them to it.

Every corner, every house, is the subject of admiration for their doors and calling (iron doorknobs mimicking a fantastic little dragon), their tiny windows with lace curtains, its running balconies of wrought iron and rich in carved wood, ... The main monument Albarracín is the city itself, with its aristocratic and popular taste, reflecting its history and the good of its people.

Climate and altitude are subject to its vegetation, and the juniper albar the climax species. Beside it several varieties of pine and holm oaks and degraded. Beautiful is the landscape of Rodeno, hiring its red color with the green of the pines. Limestones are famous for their content of fossils of the Jurassic.

Nature has been generous in the Sierra de Albarracín, may find it a great diversity of ecosystems. Canyons, deep ravines cut cliffs, craggy rock, parameros, valleys, gentle meadows, forests ... a great richness of flora (pine-albar, laricio, pinaster, junipers, hollies, oaks, gall oaks ...) and wildlife (deer, roe deer, wild boar, wild cat, squirrel, ..., migratory birds, raptors and other high-value species).

In the mountains there are also sources, springs, lakes and rivers of births, such as the Tajo, Guadalaviar, Cabriel and other minor river shapes pools, ponds, waterfalls .... All this coupled with the fresh clean air and we breathe and the spectacle offered by the real sky at night, make a journey through these beautiful and tranquil spots to stop for the traveler an unforgettable memory.

The rainy weather favors the spread in the autumn, a large variety of mushrooms, season to become a real paradise for mycologists, provided they obtain the permission of forest officials.

Baltimore Oriole or as we call them, Oriolis….who right now are singing away asking me to put the phone down and come fill up their jelly!

As Autumn grows and the days are shorter, the last lights at La Albufera Lake are clearer and more beautiful granting the visitor with magical colours and quietness.

They say don't let them in

Close your eyes and clear your thoughts again

But when I'm all alone, they show up on their own

'Cause inner demons fight their battles with fire

Inner demons don't play by the rules

They say "Just push them down, just fight them harder

Why would you give up on it so soon?"

So angels, angels please just keep on fighting

Angels don't give up on me today

'Cause the demons they are there, they just keep biting

'Cause inner demons just won't go away

So angels please, hear my prayer

Life is pain, life's not fair

So angels please, please stay here

Take the pain, take the fear

They say it won't be hard, they can't see the battles in my heart

But when I turn away

The demons seem to stay

'Cause inner demons don't play well with angels

They cheat and lie and steal and break and bruise

Angels please protect me from these rebels

This is a battle I don't want to lose

So angels, angels please just keep on fighting

Angels don't give up on me today

'Cause the demons they are there, they just keep biting

'Cause inner demons just won't go away

So angels, angels please keep on fighting

Angels don't give up on me today

'Cause the demons they are there, they just keep biting

'Cause inner demons just won't go away

So angels please, hear my prayer

Life is pain, life's not fair

So angels please, please stay here

Take the pain, take the fear

Another re-edit. Your thoughts and opinions always encouraged and welcome. The original version may be found in the comments. In the original edit it seems I tried to take much of the green cast out of the landscape. Here I chose to embrace it because well, everything was green!
