The sea mist in St Ives was spectacular. I've edited out a blurry tiny seagull (it moved too fast), took me ages and many attempts.

In 1994 we went for a holiday to Norway. In those days with an analog SLR ofcourse.

A few years ago I managed to digitize some color slides with a Soligor slide duplicator with the help of a Canon 1D mkIIN; this is one of the result;-)

The Gibraltar Point Lighthouse is a lighthouse located on the Toronto Islands in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Begun in 1808, it is the oldest existing lighthouse on the Great Lakes, and one of Toronto's oldest buildings. The lighthouse is perhaps best known for the demise of its first keeper, German-born John Paul Radelmüller, whose 1815 murder forms the basis of Toronto's most enduring ghost story. Recent research has verified many aspects of the traditional tale of his death and identified the soldiers charged with but ultimately acquitted of the crime.

These acorns of the Northern Red Oak (Quercus rubra) are nestled together on a mat of Pincushion Moss. Collectively known as mast, the dry fruits from woody plants "is the primary fall and winter food for most wildlife species. In some areas, acorns may comprise more than 50 percent of the fall diets of White-tailed Deer and Wild Turkey."

This shot was taken during our visit to Cornwall in May 2022. These cliffs are just to the south of Tintagel, near the Church of St Materiana on the cliff-top. The north Cornish coast around Tintagel is absolutely spectacular, with the sparse remains of Tintagel Castle spread over both the Island - seen on the left - and the mainland. Visitors flock to see the castle, supposedly the home of King Arthur. But all that is left is a few small stone walls and some smaller pieces of stonework. The castle remains are actually medieval, so if Arthur really existed (and I like to believe he did) the castle wasn't built until probably some seven hundred years after his death.

It always used to be a struggle to visit the Island because of the steep paths, but the new footbridge from the mainland to the Island makes it a lot easier for those who are not in the first flush of youth.
