Working the Hive today! It's still really early on in the build but this area is based off the lab you first encounter the Tyrant boss from the first Resident Evil game!
While I do greatly enjoy the first movie and most of the games, I know RE fans are kind of split between liking either or, So this is my effort to bridge the divide by offering the best of both worlds at the Hive! Hope you like it!

Getting back into the swing of things by working on the city again. This is my preliminary design for the Umbrella HQ which I plan on making into an explorable building.

The Hive is the design of UK based artist Wolfgang Buttress. It was originally created as the centrepiece of the UK Pavilion at the 2015 Milan Expo. It is now installed within London’s Kew Gardens and opened to the public on the 18th June 2016.
It is constructed from around 170,000 parts including thousands of pieces of aluminium, each of which catch the changing sunlight. Standing at 17 metres tall and weighing in at 40 tonnes, The Hive will encapsulate the story of the honeybee and the important role of pollination in feeding the planet through an immersive sound and visual experience. There are 1000 LED lights dotted around its core which glow and fade while a unique soundtrack hums and buzzes around you.
Taken a couple of days ago, this is a shot of my youngest daughter looking down through the glass floor of the Hive, an art installation at Kew Gardens. This is an iphone shot, no doubt there'll be some DSLR shots to follow once I've had a chance to process them.
From the Kew Gardens website, 'The Hive is an immersive sound and visual experience. The lights you see and the sounds you hear inside the Hive are triggered by bee activity in a real beehive at Kew.
The intensity of the sounds and light change constantly, echoing that of the real beehive. The multi award-winning Hive was inspired by scientific research into the health of honeybees. It is a visual symbol of the pollinators’ role in feeding the planet and the challenges facing bees today.'

At a towering 17 metres tall, The Hive is a striking installation in the heart of a wildflower meadow that recreates life inside a beehive.
A stunning piece of contemporary art, designed by Wolfgang Buttress, it’s one of the most photographed spots in the Gardens.
Walk into this larger-than-life enclosure and you’ll immediately enter the whirring world of a real beehive at Kew.
One thousand LED lights glow according to the vibrations of bees that live in the Gardens.
In the background, a musical symphony responds to this activity. You might (or might not) notice that every sound is performed in the key of C – the very key that bees buzz in!
Exploring the secret life of bees on a human scale, the Hive is a space to celebrate their powerful role in sustaining life as we know it.

Since is risking to close down, i decided to take as many pics as i can since it has always been one of my fave places since my come back on SL.
The level of details is something amazing, esp for fellow RE fans.

Another day of progress and moving in the right direction with a completed preliminary design for the RPD Lobby!
In other exciting developments, I upped the prim count to the max 30K prims for the sim! With this mind blowing amount of prims, I'll be free to create a really uniquely detailed experience that I hope you'll enjoy!
Thanks for the overwhelming show of support!

It's all coming together...well getting there, lol. Adding the city portion of the sim over the months has really been kind of tricky, mostly because i had no clue how to tie it all into the Hive. I've been dead-set about having a landing zone with a TPer but mostly because I didn't know who to make an area like that without killing the immersion ...or having something ugly greeting you when you TP in. "CLICK HERE, GO THERE READ THIS..." hate that stuff!
BUT, the other day I found something really awesome here on Flickr, the Hype-R Arcade Machine by Bad Unicorn. It inspired the idea to make a legit arcade inside the shopping mall build with special video game cases for the arcade machines of the Hive and Raccoon City areas of the sim. When it's all said and done, they'll act as your TP guides to navigate around the sim!
I'm really excited to share this with you and hope you like it too! I can't thank Bhad Craven 'Bad Unicorn' enough for taking the time to listen to my crazy idea and for getting back to me! I hope I did your design justice by adding my own to it!
Here's the new landing area for the Hive, The Arklay Shopping Mall! Bringing you the convenience of early 2000's shopping in the middle of a viral outbreak!
The mall is all about keeping your experience unique to the sim; with the arcade, you can TP around to both the Hive and Raccoon City areas by clicking the corresponding arcade games; and you can even play a few of the games too thanks to NOMAD. (I'd really like to offer more in working games too if I can.) You can also shop a bit with my newly design store!
There's a lot of room here for possibilities and it's all really exciting. I can't wait to explore some of the options and see what can be done to better your time on the sim!
I also wanted to thank Ashleey Andrew for a humbling show of support and patience. That was a less than stellar start to my TP system but it wound up working with only a handful of profanities being thrown around and a total overhaul to the script! I can't thank you and all my other visitors enough for your support and kind words! I hope you'll enjoy visiting this new area!

Looking towards the Orangery (building at L) which is now a restaurant. This is shot from just outside the upper level of The Hive, which is the structure at R.
Shot with an all manual Walimex 8.5mm fisheye, which if pointed more or less horizontally as here can almost pass for a more normal ultra wide angle lens.

it's my second visit here. On my first visit, I met some lovely people and voice chatted for a while. It's a beautiful sim and I highly recommend everyone stop by!
It's been awhile since i posted anything about the city build but i did start back up on the RPD the other day; and while that's turning out pretty great I took a break from that to work on another area near and dear to my heart, the art gallery!
Drawing inspiration from the thevordunsl, i wanted to offer a unique place to RP and explore while cultivating to my art lust!
I have a few neat things in it now but I would love to offer you guys a chance to show off your work! So if you'd like to have your art showing in the art gallery and don't mind some blood splatter on it, hit me up in-world!
As always, thank you all for the support and increasingly kind words! I'm thrilled to hear you guys are enjoying the sim!
*Update: A special thanks to riowyn.slife for the first piece of art submitted, You're awesome and it looks great!

I'm my own worst critic and today I got the better of myself over thinking things and worrying about all I have to do around the sim. So here's my attempt to clear my head...or at least a zombie's head.
