"NCTE celebrates 14 years and looks to the future
Trans issues are center stage in the news and in popular culture. As we see more attacks on trans people across the nation, it is even more important to work together to move trans rights forward. Join NCTE, the trans community, and allies for a reception to celebrate our successes, honor leaders in the movement, and prepare to continue the fight for trans equality." - see transequality.org/forwardtogether

Transmissibility: The "T's" Not Silent -- An Evening to Celebrate & Inspire
As trans issues and individuals are now seen in the White House, media and Hollywood, Transvisibility is at its peak. Or national lobbying organization here in Washington, the National Center for Transgender Equality is celebrating these successes while preparing for future challenges. All of the big names in the trans movement will be there.
Join us for a reception and presentation to learn about, celebrate, and support NCTE's 13 years of being the loudest and most effective trans voice in Washington.
In the past year, the transgender movement has arrived at a significant tipping point. Awareness of transgender people is at an all-time high, and together we can push for more progress toward transgender equality.
Join us as we celebrate how far we have come. Together, we can inspire each other to do more. NCTE’s 13th Anniversary Celebration is an opportunity for us to celebrate our progress, spend a wonderful evening in the company of advocates and allies, and honor those who have done so much to advance transgender equality.
Happy 100th Birthday Muddy Waters!
There was enormous excitement in the air—and on the dance floor—as a standing room-only crowd gathered to celebrate the 100th birthday of Blues Legend Muddy Waters at The Hamilton Live stage in Washington, DC.
And to handle the evening’s musical tribute were some of the best blues musicians in the country—Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, guitarist Bob Margolin, and the DC’s area favorite blues band, The Nighthawks. It was a great show..
The faithful were there to honor the "father of Chicago blues," Muddy Waters, who passed away in April 1983, at the age of 68. The winner of six Grammy Awards, and inductee in the Blues Foundation and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously in 1992. His influence on the blues and rock and roll worldwide remains unrivaled.
Up first was Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen who played many of their greatest hits, including “Smoke, Smoke, Smoke,” “Hot Rod Lincoln,” “Beat Me Daddy Eight to the Bar.” Commander Cody, whose real name is George Frayne, is still the leader of the band that was founded in 1967. His albums “Lost in the Ozone” and “Live from Deep in the Heart of Texas” are among the greatest rock and roll albums ever made. With a busy nationwide touring schedule, the Commander still is one of the best boogie-woogie keyboard players on the music scene today.
The celebration continued with electric performances by The Nighthawks, joined on stage by their friend and guitarist, Bob Margolin. Margolin and Nighthawks leader and harp player Mark Wenner traded vocals on some of Muddy Waters’ greatest hits, including “That Same Thing,” “I'm Ready,” “Mannish Boy,” “I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man,” “Got My Mojo Working,” among many others.
The show’s finale was a soaring tribute to Waters with an extended jam session that included Commander Cody and members of his band, The Nighthawks, Margolin and bassist Benny Turner, brother of Freddie King, who had played with Muddy Waters.
An after-party featuring Moonshine Society kept the birthday celebration going on into the wee hours of the morning.
Happy Birthday, Muddy Waters

A recent addition to Hamilton's menu - "Hummus Trio" - innovative, creative and wonderful tribute to the cuisine of Mediterranean Sea region, especially Morocco and Tunisia. It is crated by Chef Mohammed, often affectionately called as "Chef Mo". Chef Mo hails from Morocco.
Closest in the picture is Hummus with Harissa. Harissa is a traditional Algerian/Libyan/Tunisian and recently, Moroccan, chili-pepper paste, made of mostly Perri-Perri chili and Serrano chili and spices such as Garlic, Coriander and Olive Oil (or vegetable oil).
