Kudu are highly alert and notoriously hard to approach. When they detect danger – often using their large, radar-like ears – they give a hoarse alarm bark, then flee with a distinctive, rocking-horse running motion, the male laying back his horns to avoid overhead obstructions.

Unlike most members of the cat family, tigers like water. They are good swimmers and often cool off in pools or streams. When a tiger wants to be heard, you’ll know about it, because their roar can be heard as far as three kilometres away. They may be big and heavy, but tigers are by no means slow movers. In fact, at full speed they can reach up to 65km/h!Today, there are five subspecies of tiger: Bengal, South China, Indochinese, Sumatran and Siberian. Sadly, three subspecies of tiger have become extinct – Caspian, Bali and Javan.

Light and shade are fundamental elements of photography, as they play a crucial role in creating depth, contrast, and mood in an image. In photography, light refers to the amount and quality of light that falls on a subject, while shade refers to areas of the image that are not directly illuminated by the light source.

The interplay between light and shade can create dramatic effects in a photograph, from high contrast black and white images to softly lit portraits with a range of subtle shades of gray. By manipulating the light source, photographers can create different moods and emotions in their images.

The direction and intensity of the light source can also affect the way the subject is perceived in the photograph. For example, direct light from above can create harsh shadows and highlight textures, while soft, diffused light can create a more even and flattering illumination.

In addition to natural light, photographers can also use artificial light sources such as strobes, continuous lights, and reflectors to control the light and shade in their images. By understanding the basics of light and shade, photographers can create images that are not only technically proficient but also visually striking and emotionally engaging.

Under a full moon...

A truly magnificent sight, the Ballroom features 22-foot ceilings and lovely water-green walls adorned with gold leaf decoration. Large murals painted by Ernest Peixotto add a feeling of richness and warmth to the stateliness of the room. The magnificent crystal chandeliers, which are copies of those that hung in the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, and six elaborate crystal wall sconces with amethyst colored crystal drops, complete the grand illumination of the ballroom. A built-in stage and grand piano offer the ideal space for live entertainment.

What tales would this stage tell if only it could Speak -( Photo Shot in FILOLI ,Woodside,California - World Heritage Site )

“Our revels now are ended. These our actors,

As I foretold you, were all spirits and

Are melted into air, into thin air:

And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,

The cloud-capp’d towers, the gorgeous palaces,

The solemn temples, the great globe itself,

Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve

And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,

Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff

As dreams are made on, and our little life

Is rounded with a sleep.”

An imaginative work from a recent escapade.

What would rituals be without flowers. I always have fresh flowers at home, each day they form part of my morning ritual of remembrance for those who have passed, those who are present and may come in the future. Their beauty serve as reminder to me of our own life cycle.

When dreams come true, it might be the case you find yourself in one of the most epic sceneries the Alps have to offer. We felt like being in an unreal world when all the stars aligned and we got the famous Matterhorn being reflected on the mirror-plane lake. Not enough of that, the color texture of the cone-shaped granite rock mimicked the peak's early morning glow in a symmetry and equilibrium, you almost can't believe. This has been witnessed by a group of very nice fellows from Australia, Canada, Israel and Italy. Thanks to @torygrimaldi, @vladimir.kogan and @dw_photo_ca for the nice company!

Team Suoer Power: Sun, Wind, Earth and Rain gives our beautiful Planet so much and look what we do in return. I suppose the Team can take it all away as well when it's all said and done, unless you're like us in the Lucky Country where there is no problem with the Climate. Ask our Politicians:)

Oh Canada, your natural beauty is astonishing. A nature lovers paradise.

Heaps goodness for the moos. It was a really humid day with the sort of light you only get then as if the subject is lit with giant outdoor kliegs:)

Standing on the Peace Path at Beachy Head looking down the cliff face at the Beachy Head lighthouse, there was a tiny fishing boat skirting around the perimeter.

I had come out without my longer lenses, but quite liked the resulting minimalist shot.

Even on 'Sandblasting the driftwood Day', boy, it was windy that day, but I'll go in most weathers. That's where I feel most comfortable, that's where I belong:)

This shot was taken during a hike in Arches National Park. Not an arch and not one of the more famous landmarks in the park but some nice color, light, layers and textures.

Big picture, big joy and all for free:)

This result was taken on a very fruitful day in November 2019, when lots of fog was hanging around on the hills and valleys. If you are going to visit the woods as well, leave nothing than your footprints and do not take anything than your impressions.

White Mountain National Forest near the Maroon Bells in Colorado.

Early in the morning before the heat rises and the tide recedes...there's only one place to go.

Taken at Birling Gap, East Sussex and showing the Seven Sisters cliffs along to Seaford Head (part of the South Downs National Park)

It was 43 C today and too humid for me so the flowers close by had to do:)

With my limited mobility, the great outdoors begins at my front door.

The view of Lac la Belle, MI from the chairlift at Mount Bohemia. The sun peeked through the clouds for just a few minutes, and I happened to be in the right spot at the right time.

Like good photos don't just happen, good days are made with some planning and effort. We had kept an eye on the weather forecast for a week to find a window of opportunity to climb Grand Veymont. This was the kind of day I had dreamed of. The photo looks back from the start of the climb to our campsite facing Mont Aiguille, a limestone mesa, previously connected to the main body of the high plateau of the Vercors Massif. Its first climb in 1492 is said to mark the birth of mountaineering.

High Falls State Park, Alabama, I love what a 30 Sec exp does to the rough water. This is a Gorgeous Waterfall if you get a chance to visit. In the summer months it is crowed with cliff jumpers. Including myself...

I am happy that the sunrise times are moving closer and closer to a reasonable time of the morning.

I thought I would make the effort to catch the sunrise this morning.

I love this time of the morning as the sky changes minute by minute as the canvas is painted pink yellow and red, just before the sun rises over the horizon.
