"When you think all is forsaken
Listen to me now (all is not forsaken)
You need never feel broken
Sometimes darkness can show you the light again."

he Shadows, with Cliff Richard, dominated British popular music in the late 1950s and early 1960s in the years before the Beatles. The Shadows' number one hits included "Apache", "Kon-Tiki", "Wonderful Land", "Foot Tapper" and "Dance On!". Although these and most of their best-remembered hits were instrumentals, the group also recorded occasional vocal numbers, and hit the UK top ten with the group-sung "Don't Make My Baby Blue" in 1965. Four other vocal songs by the Shadows also made the UK charts. They disbanded in 1968, but reunited in the 1970s for further commercial success.

While inspecting some potential haunts for the presence of the Golden-tailed Gecko in brigalow habitat near Roma recently, I found a drab gecko sheltering on a tree bole upon peeling back a section of exfoliated bark as the sun was setting. Initially, I thought that this would be the sympatrically occurring Eastern Spiny-tailed Gecko, due to its muted colouration. Upon closer examination, I could make out a faint stripe along the tail confirming the finding of a Golden-tailed Gecko, a brigalow endemic! I was over the moon as I sprinted back to camp and placed him in a white container for several minutes…..Upon lifting the lid, the beauty of the gecko was fully revealed with the colour change, as I stared down at a little Dalmatian with its tail on fire!

vorrei camminare sempre nella luce e rifuggire l'ombra....
ma ogni luce ha la sua ombra...
spero sempre di avere una quantità enorme di luce...
così da riuscire a camminare al fianco delle mie ombre
senza temerle...
The outside world is a crazy rat race. Who knew that we wanted to be within the craziness more now than ever.
An endless pursuit of nothings. A dangerous place for many.
Done in elements using layer masks.

Happy Slider Sunday
I found her by the beach
Looking at the stunning sunset
I joined her
All down in my sniper mode
Happy clicking, as always
Manual on my camera, of course
Trying to understand when I have the correct aperture, the light, iso, shutter - all the stuff to get the ultimate night photo
Always trying to capture the light
So many photos trying to catch her and her beauty
So many deleted photos
hehe
My learning curve is sometimes extremely high curved
And sometimes it's extremely not
But I always have fun

A gorgeous adult female red phase Common Death Adder at sunset in a tract of mallee in South Australia.
In the distance, I saw the light, it shined so bright. I felt the warmth of it's glow. Feeling the day, it took me away, and so.
"An unforgivable tragedy
The answer isn't where you think you'd find it
Prepare yourself for the reckoning
For when your world seems to crumble again
Don't be afraid, don't turn away
You’re the one who can redefine it
Don't let hope become a memory
Let the shadow permeate your mind and
Reveal the thoughts that were tucked away
So that the door can be opened again
Within your darkest memories
Lies the answer if you dare to find it
Don't let hope become a memory
When you think all is forsaken
Listen to me now (all is not forsaken)
You need never feel broken again
Sometimes darkness can show you the light..."

THE SPOTTED TREE FROG
A beautiful adult male Spotted Tree Frog (Litoria spenceri) found perched on a mid-stream stone adjacent to a riffle zone along a fast-flowing creek in north-eastern Victoria, Australia.

The season, the light, the snow, and life - they all shift with time. I signed and actually "bought" my house today. I feel the whole world shifting (and no, that's not just the wee toast we had to celebrate.)
A beautiful Whistling Tree Frog from the Merri Creek corridor on the northern fringe of metropolitan Melbourne.
Taken on a Canon EOS 5D Mark III coupled to a vintage M42 mount authentic silver Meyer Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 100/2.8 lens from the late 1950's with a third party adapter. A 13mm EOS EF extension tube incorporated.
Manual focus, manual settings and hand-held @ 2.8 with reflector based side lighting. Apart from RAW conversion and the most basic of edits, image shot as is.
HIGH END GLOSS
It is almost impossible to sufficiently admire just how classy and sleek he is! Portrait of an absolute belter of a Yellow-bellied Water Skink (Eulamprus heatwolei) from the banks of the Big River near Jamieson in the Victorian High Country on a sunny spring morning a few days ago.
