After taking photos of food all week for Macro Mondays 'Fill the Frame with Food' theme I've finally decided on this as my shot to submit. The other shots that made my shortlist this week are here, here and here.

I enjoyed this theme, being able to eat the subject matter after the shoot is a definite bonus :o)

my friends! You make my day every day!

Two fluffy sheep strolling down the road on Isle of Skye (Scotland), where sheep graze everywhere. Scottish Blackface sheep are incredibly cute and stubborn ;) no way they are quickly moving away from the road when a car is approaching. They sure know how to enjoy the peaceful country life! ♥

The Scottish Blackface is the most common breed of domestic sheep in the United Kingdom. This tough and adaptable breed is often found in the more exposed locations, such as the Scottish Highlands. Blackfaces are horned in both sexes, and as their name suggests, they usually have a black face (sometimes with white markings) and black legs.

September is upon us and although the sun may still be shining there are definitely autumnal changes afoot. What do you like most about autumn?

Created for Texture Tuesday at Kim Klassen Café, using Kim's texture PumpkinGrunge and Lenabem-Anna texture 143.

Limestone cliffs in Northern Ireland, stretching from Curran Strand to Dunluce Castle on the north coast. The soft, sedimentary rocks have been carved through centuries into a labyrinth of caves and arches. This image, taken from Dunluce Castle, features Elephant Rock and there are other headlands of distinguishable shapes. Under the road, there are caves, accessible only from the sea.

Thank You for Your Kind Visit

Garlic mustard, originally from Europe and Asia, has become a very troublesome invasive plant across the Northeast, Midwest and Northwest of the United States.

The plant was introduced to North America in the mid 1800s for its herbal and medicinal qualities and as erosion control.

This plant spreads its seeds in the wind and gains a foothold in fields and forests by emerging earlier in spring than many native plants. By the time native species are ready to grow, garlic mustard has blocked their sunlight and outcompeted them for moisture and vital nutrients.

I have been at odds with it for over a dozen years when it appeared along the roadsides in our agricultural town. I weed it and hunt it down relentlessly, but it seems to no avail.

This shot is a section along our property, next to the field which is full of blooming Garlic Mustard, Dandelion, Red Clover and at least 5 types of grass. It is an attractive plant, but it is not well behaved and it chokes out all the native plants as you can see. Even the fallen branch will soon disappear from view..

Soft coloured chalk.
