Bought my headboard some 18 years or so ago, from a boot fair, and whilst it's been perfectly adequate for years, a few weeks ago, I suddenly decided I was bored of it!! I looked online for a replacement, and found them to be both boring and expensive!
So I decided to revamp mine!! Once again, I looked online for a fabric I liked and soon found one! Here is the progress of my 'work' (bearing in mind that I've never upholstered anything before!).
Main shot is the headboard as it was... a beigey/pinky velvet type thing with buttons.

Pour changer cette fois, encore une fabrication : une tĂȘte de lit en palette. Juste Ă trouver une palette, un coup de ponçage. Enlever quelques planches, remettre correctement les clous et un coup de vernis. Le tour est jouĂ© !

To change this time, once manufacturing: a headboard palette. Just find a palette, a stroke sanding. Remove a few boards, nails and put a shot nail correctly.

I bought 2 old oak doors , remove the old paint and build a head-board with inside shelves.
The main steps were :
Remove the paint from doors,
Remove a part of each door in order to make them symetrical
Add a MDF board below each door to increase their height
Assemble the whole furniture with glue and dowels (no screws)
Paint it with a beautiful Farrow And Ball paint !
