Funny twist to the Test of Courage summer activity. The challenge is to shave the leg of Karakasa, the umbrella demon (´ᗜ`)ゞ
Not real. Luminar Sky replacement test. Photo actually taken during day. You can make out the distant mountains aren’t masking the sky very well, but overall the Auto Sky replacement works pretty good for one click. The waves would also look very different under a long exposure.
This is a first for me just wanted to test what a Raynox 250 could do for my macro photography, this fly was pulled out of the venetian blinds and is probably 3+ months old dead, all the other settings I use in the field are the same. This is fully auto focus with the R5 in pretty dim lighting, I never take "studio" photo's they are all out in nature. We will have to wait and see if this extra bit of kit can make a difference. There is no crop on this image it is full frame.
I hate the wrist position, was more a test of camera angle and blending. Also, if anyone knows where I can find some really nice, HD BoM body and face freckles, I'll be your best friend.

When i was grovelling in the woods over a week ago for my first Bluebell shot of the season I have to admit age and some limitations didn't help but I do love vintage bokeh though was finding it extra difficult.. Jonathan bought this lens for my birthday which incidentally is today, because I had looked at many reviews and thought the auto focus might help in this new lens, length 135mm f/1.8.. It was ordered one day and delivered the next and in time for me to test that is was fine. So the other day when i went the first of two short walks. I was able with the Sony A7RM3 to auto focus on the flower I wished, I then had the facility to override the auto focus using manual focus DMF in the camera settings and also bought up the focus magnifier to tweak where I wanted it sharp. It definitely is not vintage but I personally still loved the painterly bokeh I was able to get but with a little help initially from the auto focus ability of the lens. The new lens is a Samyang 135mm f1.8 and I will hopefully get some portrait shots too which is one of its main strengths but I don’t use any lens conventionally tbh….
Good advice - test the harness *before* you get out there.

Freshly arrived on ONR's property in Rouyn-Noranda the night before, extra CN Test train 4791 is splitting the decommissioned ABS signals in front of the old T&NO station at Temagami. CN's Test train is just back from a "milk run" in Northern Quebec, having tested the La Tuque, Saint-Maurice, Taschereau, Chapais, Matagami and Val-d'Or subdivisions. The ONR scheduled to test their entire network before handing it back to CN a couple of days later in Hearst.

A pair of class 37s, unit 37405 with 37407 tailing, approach Derby some 66 minutes early with the 9.50am Canton Taff Vale Sidings - Derby RTC (1Z33) track-testing train.
The early arrival didn't seem to phase the healthy collection of enthusiasts on the station eager to get up close and personal to these 60yo machines. The train stopped here for a few minutes before reversing in to Network Rail's 'Research and Technical Centre', a few hundred yards out of sight on the left.
Comments off, thanks.

Testing a new lens, not as sharp as I’d hope for its first use but totally my fault. I was in aperture priority instead of manual and the shutter was a little slow for handheld. This is my default test location, it’s close to the house.
BNSF's RSP38-2 moves around the Westwood yard and onto the main. Crews were testing it to make sure it works in case it is needed later in the season.
A dial test indicator consists of a gauge; on the gauge is a pin level mounted on a spring. When the pin contacts a surface, pressure forces the pin lever up, causing the dial gauge to move. Numbers marked on the perimeter of the dial test indicator display the amount of pressure applied to the pin lever.
