Testing out my templates. Worked out pretty well. I'm excited to see how it looks with the Kaffe Fassett's. This little guy is just 6X9"
Inspired by Pattern from Anna Maria Horner
Plus Kaffe Fassett charm pack
Plus too much time spent figuring out how to cut diamonds and triangles from charm squares
Equals hopefully something really cool that'll be doll quilt size!
....at least that's the plan!!
Glued up a fork, faced & reamed the HT, crown race seat, and ST, then flung a headset, seatpost, and saddle onto it and took it for a short brakeless ride up and down the street to see if it would explode.
Spoiler: it didn't.
It's got at least 75mm of BB drop, which is a lot for 650b. I might have to melt off the seatstays and use the 2×4 of gentle adjustment to bend the seatstays down 10mm, then make another fork with matching extra A-C, but I'll mull it over for a while first (the fork is a nice light one that's a close fit on a 42mm tire, so I may want to get a larger crown and pull some more side-to-side clearance for paranoia's sake nevertheless.)
Teleidoscope Week 20: Tested
1) A test to see if I could make a picture of a wall "interesting".
2) A test to see if I could take a photo and upload it in the 30 minutes before the week ends.
3) A test to see if I can get away with this. ;)
4) Tested: How I felt all damn week.
Some test photos using the new light box.
It's supposed to be color corrected to 5000K, whatever that means. Not sure my camera plays nice with it, but that's for other people to fix, not me.
test print for a poster im working on for a show at the end of august.

Initial test of lens adapters, just to make sure that they fit and work with the leses I have. So far so good. I'm sure there will be more playing with lenses in the future.
I'm hoping to do a series of Vintage objects shot with vintage lenses.

Lighting test with my new battery and inverter setup. Model (who also works as a photographer/digital tech/assistant) Kristina Danube.
The thing worked exactly as I'd hoped. The one thing I forgot was to turn off the inverter when I was finished, it was warm when I arrived home. I'll have to put in a sign to remind myself or assitants..
But lightweight and powerful, and no engine noise from a stinky, loud, gas powered generator. That means the model and assistant(s) can hear my directions and we can talk normally. 1000 w/s Dyna-Lite pack, 4040 head into a Dyna-Lite beauty dish with a diffuser. Recycles in 1.8 seconds to full power every time.
See other images for other specs, have had up to 650 images from the battery, more than I'd usually need.

The Union Pacific checking on it's assets at Ilmon CA.
GE C45ACCTE #5489 is giving some lucky chaps a bit of rare haulage, those chaps being the technicians in Geometry car EC-4. There seems to be a considerable amount of work currently being undertaken between Bakersfield and Mojave, ballast trains about, a lot of new sleepers ready for use trackside around Ilmon, Bena and Sandcut, a works train parked up at Tehachapi Summit, a Loram rail grinder in the area and a huge fleet of works trucks and plant parked up trackside by the old Tehachapi depot.
Note also the greenery and water in the creek, Kern County would seem to have had a wet winter this time around, indeed it was raining for much of the afternoon. I'm planning towards a late September trip later this year, if I should venture to these parts it's going to look very different indeed after a predicted long hot summer.

First EVER timelapse.
Not the most interesting subject.
I left it on at home when I went to work (it's still shooting, I just tried putting this clip together remotely from work).
So far, I messed up with leaving autofocus ON and setting the wrong whitebalance.
It shoots 5 exposures (-2/-1/0/+1/+2) in jpeg small, batch edited in photomatix, imported in lightroom and cropped to 1920x1080, then put together in quicktime. Looks like crap, but it's a start! :)
5 exposures HDR'ed to 1 shot and run at 30 FPS.
So... this video consists of 3625 shots.
I'll replace this one when the rest is rendered.
