My deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of the more than 30 innocent victims of this cruel deed !
Tribute to all Sri Lankans/Foreigners who sacrifice their lives at the recent Bomb Attacks on Easter Sunday Morning ie. 21st April 2019 in all over Sri Lanka. The blasts targeted three Churches, as well as leading luxury Hotels namely Shangri-La, Kingsbury and the Cinnamon Grand in the capital of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Thank you so much for my friends who sent me mails and phone messages regarding the incident. I am safe at the moment.
I couldn't do much flickr activities for the past four months due to personal reasons, but happy... I meet you all once again.

In Brussels to pay tribute to the victims (and their family and friends) of the cowardly terrorist attacks in Brussels on 22-3 and ofcourse to the beautiful city of Brussels itself.
Partial views of the Gateway to India monument and the Taj Palace Hotel frame the fishing boats in the Arabian Sea. The monument allowed access and entry to India from the sea. It was built in 1911 to honor King George and Queen Mary on their arrival to visit British India.
The area, with its seaside promenade, quickly became a favorite among visitors to the city. Old decaying cafes and vendor stalls selling lovely souvenirs of India were a huge draw.
Then came 2008: other visitors arrived in motorized collapsible small boats. They managed to avoid the scrutiny of the local fishermen. An Islamic terrorist group in Pakistan sent the men. Their incredibly well orchestrated attacks paralyzed the city for days. The world watched live TV coverage of the carnage and horror. The lovely hotel was under siege for what seemed to be days and fires destroyed portions of the famous hotel. The hotel staff were hailed as heroes for protecting as many guests as they possible.
As I mentioned on my last post, Gandhi's ashes were scattered off of this coast. He would be greatly saddened by this attack. His passive opposition to the British included Muslims.
In 2014, I booked a room in the hotel. I love old grand hotels and the Taj Palace certainly had an extraordinary story to tell. Unfortunately, I came down with what is often called "Delhi belly" and was confined to my room for the entire time I was there.
Luckily I had a view, thanks to my travel agent. The hint of the screen covering the window in this image is a subtle reminder of my confinement.

Brussels, a couple of weeks after the terrorist attack at Brussels airport. People gathered at the "bourse de bruxelles" to protest against terrorism and violence.

My thoughts and sympathies are with all those affected by the recent attacks.
I feel very sorry for those who have lost loved ones, family, friends, neighbours and co workers.
I understand that for many the terrible events will stay with them for many years.
I hope and pray the pain which the people affected by these events will one day go, to be replaced with future happiness.
I hope the One Love Manchester concert will be a great success.
I will waste no words or thoughts for the terrorists.
I will say little about politicians promising extra police to try to get in power. Their words have little value.
But I will say. The British public have once again risen to the challenge.
Countless people helped fellow citizens. Often the people they helped they did not know. People who saved live's, supplied accommodation and food, some helped people who were lost.
Those who attack our country in such manner want to divide us. Make us change our ways.
But by keeping vigilant and working together, with our fellow citizens, friends, neighbours and the security services we will prosper and the madness will end.
Hate can only produce hate. So I will not preach hate.
Life is special, remarkable, irreplaceable and unique.
I can only offer my thoughts and prayers.
I wish everyone a happy week ahead.
May your live's be illuminated with love, joy, happiness and safety.

Life is special, remarkable, irreplaceable and unique.
I can only offer my thoughts and prayers.
The crash at Puglia (Italy) was tragic. A horrible event. There are many single railway lines in Europe. I know a few in Wales. I fully understand the friends and families will want answers.
The terrorist attack is Nice was an assault on France and humanity. I can not and will not understand the mind set which does such things. I do not wish to understand such thoughts or mind set. Like why a person kills so many innocents, so many children. As with the train crash in Italy my thoughts are with the friends and families of the victims, as well as the citizens of both countries. Who are my fellow Europeans.
My thoughts are also with the people of Turkey. The recent coup has caused the deaths of many innocent people and effected the lives of many other people.
Over the years I have met, known and been friends with people from the counties effected by the recent events.

This is my first memory of Brussels. We traveled to the Grand Place and were surprised to see the Flower Carpet, an event that comes once every two year. Since then, I've been fortunate to return to this beautiful city several times. Brussels is one of my favorite European cities, and the cowardly actions of a few will not destory my love for this unique place.
Terrorists from Pakistan attacked the city of Mumbai on 26th November, 2008 and killed close to 200 people. The Taj Mahal Hotel, The Trident Hotel, CST Railway station and a Jewish home was attacked.

I visited the new neighbourhood of River District in Vancouver East. They hosted a Farmers Market in the weekend and I had a walk by the river side.
It is a grey day today but I like peaceful and relaxed atmosphere around the neighbourhood.
When shall we have peace around the world without worry of terrorism?

Khader was Yassine Labidi's friend. It was a shock the day he was informed about his death on tv. Yassine had just killed 21 people in the Bardo's museum in Tunis.
Before toughen himself, Yassine was living a regular youth, he used to drink, smoke and had a girlfriend. Khader doesn't understand, nothing couldn't predict this all thing

.... On the evening of 13 November 2015, a series of coordinated terrorist attacks occurred in Paris, France, and its northern suburb Saint-Denis. The attacks consisted of mass shootings, suicide bombings, bombings, and hostage taking. Beginning at 21:16 CET, three separate explosions and six mass shootings occurred, including bombings near the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. The deadliest attack was at the Bataclan Theatre, where attackers took hostages and engaged in a standoff with police until it was ended at 00:58 14 November, 2015. At least 129 people were killed, 89 of them at the Bataclan theatre. 352 people were injured by the attacks, including 99 people described as being in a serious condition. In addition to the civilian casualties, eight attackers were killed and authorities continued to search for any accomplices that remained at large ....
I vivid remember exactly where I was, exactly what I was doing, exactly all the things that I was feeling, and especially exactly all the things that were done against my country & my people, but, mostly against my freedom. I was at work...I talked to my wife several times, I thought about my kids at school, I watched, and I prayed...and I was hurt, I was angry, I was compassionate, but I was never afraid because I believe. I believe in freedom, I believe in democracy, and I believe in America. I also believe in the American people and especially the 2,977 victims and nearly 6,000 injured during the cowardly attacks of 9.11.2001 in New York City, at the Pentagon in Washington DC, and in the skies above Shanksville, Pennsylvania. And, I will always believe...but, most of all, I WILL NEVER FORGET!
