Comment prendre les tennismen en pleine rue ?
Réponse : à la volée bien sûr...
Voire à la reprise de volée d'ailleurs, mais là on entre dans un domaine hautement acrophotobatique ! :-))
This person I labored into the world will be moving out of my house to begin the next part of his life in two weeks. I knew this was coming, I really did. Nearly every young adult hits that spot where living with mom just doesn't cut it anymore. I figured we'd have at least a few more months together to drill those last-minute lessons in. I anticipated the *woohoo!* excitement of the empty nest. In the back of my head I've wonderingly daydreamed about how the results of my parenting might be reflected in the number of phone calls I'd eventually receive in any given week. I did not anticipate the wistful sense of life changing without first having asked my permission.
He's grown, or mostly. He has every right and responsibility to himself to see what else is out there; to begin writing his own stories. We'd undoubtedly drive one another batty if he lived with me forever. And ohmigod, I'm so excited for him!
But, well, I'll sorta miss him too.
Richmond native, tennis champion and humanitarian Arthur Ashe was the first African-American male to win a Grand Slam event and was an active civil rights supporter. He is honored with a statue on Monument Avenue in Richmond, Virginia
ARTIST: Paul Di Pasquale.
DEDICATION: July 10, 1996 (it would have been his 53rd birthday).
DESCRIPTION: The bronze statue of Arthur Ashe faces west with four children facing east. The statue shows him holding books in his left hand and a tennis racket in his right hand to illustrate how he encouraged the importance of sports and education. The 12 foot bronze statue (the figure is 10 foot tall, 12 foot to the books in his left hand) stands on a 87,000 pound granite block quarried in Georgia. The monument rises 28 feet above the street

Second Test Shot. I am so pleased and AMAZED that there are no light leaks and the camera seems to be working like a dreeeeam :)
I don't have the original leather case for the Leica fixed (re-stitched) yet so until that gets back from the leather repair guy I am not going to risk taking it out and about :/ Hence the dull 'Shot'

Winterbourne House and Garden were designed in 1903 as a family home for John and Margaret Nettlefold.
The design of the house was intended to make the best use of available light; notable features are its large windows, white painted panelling and south facing rooms. 1944 Winterbourne was bequeathed to the University. The house and garden remain a part of the University.
The house contains furniture dating from the late Victorian period to the 1920s. Restored rooms include a drawing room, study, bedrooms and nursery. The visitor tearoom is located where the original dining room would have been.

This week’s theme at Flickr is Tension, this word can express and be interpreted in so many ways. I took my Tennis Racket, and thought about the tension of its string.

In a ideal world I would have preferred to do something gymnastics based as Max Whitlock is from my hometown.
For the 'Macro Monday' - 'Summer Olympic Sports' challenge 15th August 2016.
One of the all-time classic tennis rackets, wooden of course. Found this one in my father's basement behind his old tool bench. I used to play with this as a young man, when I wasn't a bad player. The strings back in the day were made with cat "gut" and you could get spins with this racket that most modern pros are incapable of getting with their more powerful ones. By the time I was a kid, the Wilson pro staff had already replaced this one, but I preferred the old Kramer because it had a heavier frame and head than the pro staff. I remember arguing abt which racket was better with some good players who wound up turning pro, including two other Queens boys, the McEnroe brothers.

I've been eyeing this set for a long time, & finally found one at a decent price. I love the "tenniss" balls.

Constantly trying to keep on good terms with Emperor Palpatine, Stormtrooper Bruce has come up yet with another idea hoping to help raise credits for The P's find the droid campaign next year.
TK-1110: I'm having trouble with this whole Yard Sale concept. What's a yard?
TK-432: Who cares? We're just here to make sure no one buys the t.v.
STB: Guys, I'm selling stuff I don't need any more. You remember the P's last pep rally, he said we all need to do our part to reduce clutter onboard. And surprisingly I had lots of clutter!
TK-432: Pretty sure he didn't mean pulling junk out of the trash compactor. Can you say pink porcelain throne?
STB: That wasn't in the trash, it was in…well I probably shouldn't say.
TK-1110: Well, you probably shouldn't do a lot of things you do, but that's never stopped you before.
STB: True that, but sometimes I just can't help myself.
TK-432: Like brown nosing a certain Person to raise credits for his futile campaigns?
STB: Wish I could remove the clutter from your brains. When I asked you two about this you both thought this was a great idea.
TK-1110: You also plied us with endless coolers of brewskies before asking our opinion.
TK-432: You also said everything would sell in minutes, and then movie night could start early. We've been here for hours and there's no end in sight. No food either.
STB: Granted it looked better on paper but even I have to admit a Yard Sale was a lame idea to have on a Death Star.

Maria Yuryevna Sharapova (born April 19, 1987) is a former World No. 1 Russian professional tennis player. Sharapova has won 23 WTA singles titles, including 3 Grand Slam singles titles at the 2004 Wimbledon, 2006 US Open and 2008 Australian Open. Sharapova is an aggressive baseliner, with power, depth, and angles on her forehand and backhand. Additionally, she is one of the few players on the WTA who uses the reverse forehand a lot. Despite her powerful game, Sharapova's greatest asset is considered to be her mental toughness and competitive spirit.

Day 351 of the 365 Journey
Week 4 of 52 weeks of feeling fit
This shot actually encompasses three shots in one. The first of course being today’s 365 shot. The second being for my 52 Weeks of Feeling Fit, and last but not least Hats for Haiti. A friend of mine started a group where for every image placed into that group before Saturday he’s making a donation to Haiti. I think it’s an excellent opportunity for a group of people to help a good cause. Thanks Tony for orchestrating! You’re AWESOME man!
Now go out and get some exercise! If you don’t feel like exercising, then try to do something else productive like eating healthy. Like Tony’s “Hats for Haiti” group……every little bit helps!
