A castle of the Anglo Irish landowners. A stairs used by the tenants from the estate to access the room in which the rents were collected every year.
A couple of blue tits seems very interested in the nest box. Hopefully they will move in... :)

After being vacated almost 2 years ago after the local Elks Club was shut down due to violations with grand lodge, the former GTW depot in Owosso has sat vacant, and unfortunately it is starting to show. With only a couple trains a week passing by, there isn't much to shoot there anymore, and the job is almost always arriving after dark. Coming to switch Georgia Pacific, HESR 765 crawls past the depot and the lone leaning GTW code line pole in front. I'm sure someone could do something with this depot, money will be the big factor as always.

ENG: The Shell House on the Reichpietschufer in Berlin's Tiergarten district, a listed building, was built between 1930 and 1932 on what was then Königin-Augusta-Straße (from 1933 Tirpitzufer and from 1947 Reichpietschufer) for Hamburg-based Rhenania-Ossag mineral oil works AG (from 1947 German Shell AG) on the basis of a design by architect Emil Fahrenkamp. Since 2012, the second office of the Federal Ministry of Defence has been located in the Shell building as a tenant.
A special feature of the stylistic steel skeleton building and one of the most important office buildings of the Weimar Republic is its striking design. The vertical waveforms of different heights and a consistently horizontal division by window bands, which are also led over the external curves. The façade was bricked with gas concrete blocks and covered with slabs of Roman travertine from Tivoli. A technical innovation was to reduce the vibrations caused by road traffic; air slits were built under the sidewalks around the building to keep the vibrations away from the steel scaffolding.
Last year a pair of chickadees claimed this birdhouse; this year is bumblebees.
The new peeps are busy pulling out the moss from previous tenants. :-)
Project 365-140
This week's theme and story is about a tree that I like to call the "Condo Tree." I've watched it over the last couple of years and many birds desire the location. In fact, there is usually a lot of bickering that goes on before the final who gets what nest is decided. This week I'll show some of the potential tenants. First up is this red-naped sapsucker. He was the first bird I saw trying to make it a home. In this image he was doing the excavations. But it wasn't long before others tried to take over...
The sapsucker flew off for a few minutes and in came a pair of tree swallows. Mr. Swallow immediately began to make preparations and even had the missus check it out. After that there was some squabbling as she didn't seem to be "in love with the place." Who's up next? For a sneak peak at the whole story and bonus pics, see my Instagram at www.instagram.com/p/CdoNOdepudq/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

This pair of Kestrels seem to have taken over the Comms Tower at Sneydes Rd. that Belle and Bronson used to perch on.

Part of the only industrial architecture project planned and executed by Mies van der Rohe.
Today Mies van der Rohe Business Park.
The building will be kept in a basic state of preservation until the marketing has been completed, i.e. permanent tenants have been found and further financing for a monument-compliant expansion has been secured.

Derwentwater (or Derwent Water) is one of the principal bodies of water in the Lake District National Park in north west England. It lies wholly within the Borough of Allerdale, in the county of Cumbria.
The lake occupies part of Borrowdale and lies immediately south of the town of Keswick. It is both fed and drained by the River Derwent. It measures approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) long by 1 mile (1.6 km) wide and is some 72 feet (22 m) deep. There are several islands within the lake, one of which is inhabited. Derwent Island House, an 18th century residence, is a tenanted National Trust property open to the public on five days each year.
Derwentwater is a place of considerable scenic value. It is surrounded by hills (known locally as fells), and many of the slopes facing Derwentwater are extensively wooded. A regular passenger launch operates on the lake, taking passengers between various landing stages. There are seven lakeside marinas, the most popular stops being: Keswick, Portinscale and the Lodore Falls, from which boats may be hired. Recreational walking is a major tourist activity in the area and an extensive network of footpaths exists within the hills and woods surrounding the lake.
The Keswick—Borrowdale road runs along the eastern shore of the lake and carries a regular bus service. There is a lesser, or unclassified, road along the western shore connecting the villages of Grange and Portinscale.
Derwentwater gave its name to the Earldom of Derwentwater.
The lake is believed to be the last remaining native habit of the vendace (Coregonus vandesius) fish from the 4 originally known sites: Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwent Water in the Lake District and the Castle Loch & Mill Loch in Lochmaben.
My wife found this big Orb Weaver spider in our basement. She has had an intense lifelong fear of spiders. Over the years I have gradually gotten her to feel comfortable not only letting spiders live but even leaving them in our house. This Orb Weaver was just too big for her comfort though, which I can completely understand. She is very tolerant of my love for spiders and rarely complains. I decided to use some flowers that we had and grab a couple photos before I relocated this big, beautiful girl.
