A scale layout of the time and temperature display that, from c.1963 to 1966, was part of the huge "spectacular" for TWA that was mounted atop the Shoppers Corner building at 150 North State Street (corner of West Randolph Street) in Chicago. This was a 7 x 11 numeral grid version of the 'TimeTemp-Sign' display as built by General Indicator Corporation, which 6 x 9 layout for the GM Futurama exhibit at the 1964 New York World's Fair can be seen here. The rows and columns appeared to be spaced 9" apart, thus PAR38 light bulbs would have been used. After TWA vacated the space around 1966, the individual sign elements including this remained dark until it (and the rest of the structure) was finally dismantled around 1970.
On the first floor, just as you enter, there are loads of people going every which way, and this small sign pointing out the obvious first question.
One of those confusing dead ends that makes you feel like you're in a choose-your-own-adventure book. Totally non-obvious how you get out of it without this sign.
This was affixed to a glass door, for a special collections area that was near a major walkway. Probably added after many folks accidentally wandered into the rare book room.
This is the top, and I figured there were a few floors above before I saw this. Also, it didn't feel like we climbed 10 floors, since the escalator in the middle goes steeply up a few levels without any indication you have risen so far.
