Everyone, looking at the calm sea at the splendours of the sunset, or in clear morning, or in a storm, is moved; but these emotions, the arcane melancholy, the joyous feast, the wild sublime voluptuousness, the poets have, of course, without comparison more than the other men, heard and painted, and the colors have been varied, according to the special character and the temper of the their spirit and their ingenuity, the time in which they lived, the trait of their life in which they wrote. With admiration to Ueli Steck .
"Ueli Steck (German: [ˈyːli ʃtɛk]; 4 October 1976 – 30 April 2017) was a Swiss rock climber and mountaineer.
He won two Piolet d'Or awards, in 2009 and 2014. He was also famous for his speed records on the North Face trilogy in the Alps.
Steck died on 30 April 2017 after falling during an acclimatizing climb for an attempt on the Hornbein route on the West Ridge of Everest without supplemental oxygen.
Steck had previously summited Mount Everest on May 18, 2012, and he also summited Ama Dablam that year.
"Ueli Steck (* 4.

Queste sacre antiche piante
A noi volgi il bel sembiante
Senza nube e senza vel
Tempra, o Diva
Tempra tu de cori ardenti
Tempra ancora lo zelo audace
Spargi in terra quella pace
Che regnar tu fai nel ciel
Fine al rito, e il sacro bosco
Sia disgombro dai profani
Quando il Nume irato e fosco
Chiegga il sangue dei Romani
Dal Druidico delubro
La mia voce tuoner
Cadr punirlo io posso
Ma, punirlo, il cor non sa
Ah! bello a me ritorna
Del fido amor primiero
E contro il mondo intiero
Difesa a te sar
Ah! bello a me ritorna
Del raggio tuo sereno
E vita nel tuo seno
E patria e cielo avr
Ah, riedi ancora qual eri allora
Quando il cor ti diedi allora
Ah, riedi a me"
Casta Diva English Translation
Pure Goddess, whose silver covers
These sacred ancient plants,
we turn to your lovely face
unclouded and without veil...
Temper, oh Goddess,
the hardening of you ardent spirits
temper your bold zeal,
Scatter peace across the earth
Thou make reign in the sky...
"Chaste déesse,
chaste déesse qui argentes
ces antiques ...
Ces antique feuillages sacrés,
tourne vers nous ton beau visage,
sans nuage et sans voile.
Chaste déesse qui argentes
ces antique feuillages sacrés,
tourne vers nous ton beau visage,
sans nuage et sans voile.
Modère, ô déesse,
modère des cœurs ardents,
modère le zèle...
Modère le zèle audacieux,
répand sur la terre cette paix
que tu fais régner au ciel. "
Any Tempra is a rare sight now, however the saloon variant is the rarest of all. This example appears to have been used as a storage unit for the past few years. A newer Stilo joins it. The car now looks to be sat in its final resting place, unless a rather brave Fiat enthusiast deems it to be restorable. The current owner has had it since it was just a year old - I’d imagine they are quite attached to the car, but don’t have the means to keep it roadworthy.

Built by Dr. Santa Clara, an important scholar of the time.
Initially, this arch was called Puerta del Tempra, in reference to a combat between the Knights of the Temple against the Moors.
My only Lancia so far, and it wasn't what I had hoped it to be. I did end up getting it very cheaply (£350?) but it almost immediately had a running fault which caused it to hesitate and 'miss' for about an hour on the long journey home. The next day this turned into cutting out constantly when slowing down, which was incredibly stressful! Despite that it was pretty comfortable, and sounded good, despite offering barely any performance thanks to the catalysed engine being choked of all its power, with 75hp on offer.
It was also very rotten, the rear wings had began to detach from the rest of the car, the welds obviously giving up, not to mention the front door skin. A shame, but there we go. I would opt for a Tempra given the chance to again.
Scrapped by the person who I sold it to.
originally started as a random pair of wings, then turned into giving tempra a vehicle similar to toa ignika's... then turned into some kind of gold space stingray thing.

Abandoned behind a car dealership. Unfortunately the photo came out slightly blurry so I'll definitely go back. There's even more cars here than in this photo. I am aware of some Yugo's and another Tempra at this location. Sadly the dealership was shut so I couldn't go in and ask them, so next time I'll go when they are open.

In good shape, especially given how old it now is. I have seen some really rough older cars in the past in Italy, but Turin seems to generally have nicer, more tidy examples on the road.

Like the previously featured wagon from last March this early Tempra looks great with its original hubcaps.
I was really happy to spot this shockingly rare car. Just 3 left of this spec on the road! So a proper survivor, same owner since 2006 and 142k miles on the clock.
Finally getting round to uploading some more photos from my first visit to Festival of the Unexceptional in 2021, as I only managed to upload a few at the time. Not long to go until this year's event, and I wonder how many of these cars will be there again? I didn't seem to take quite as many photos in 2022, but there was still loads of brilliant stuff that was new to me, and I'm sure it will be the same this year.
