The Bayon (Khmer: ប្រាសាទបាយ័ន, Prasat Bayon) is a well-known and richly decorated Khmer temple at Angkor in Cambodia. Built in the late 12th or early 13th century as the official state temple of the Mahayana Buddhist King Jayavarman VII, the Bayon stands at the centre of Jayavarman's capital, Angkor Thom. Following Jayavarman's death, it was modified and augmented by later Hindu and Theravada Buddhist kings in accordance with their own religious preferences.
The Bayon's most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and massive stone faces on the many towers which jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak. The temple is known also for two impressive sets of bas-reliefs, which present an unusual combination of mythological, historical, and mundane scenes. The current main conservatory body, the Japanese Government Team for the Safeguarding of Angkor (the JSA) has described the temple as "the most striking expression of the baroque style" of Khmer architecture, as contrasted with the classical style of Angkor Wat.

In the old days when the temple was build, this is where the kitchen was. the lady of the house came out after the cooking session to see a wonderful 7 hooded snake that was caved out of a single rock. Her 'evil eye' made the amazing scuplture crack. Divya is trying a repeat.. hard luck lady..
Visited the Nimishamba temple at Ganjam,Srirangapatna, more to see the Kaveri river than the temple itself. Goddess Nimishamba is a reincarnation of Parvati & has a penchant of grant a boon in a “minute”…hence the name. Needless to say people make a beeline to meet her. The river is pristine & the idols half immersed in the river is surreal. Good to go & relax . Some snaps..

The Sri Thandayuthapani Temple, better known as the Chettiar Hindu Temple, is one of Singapore Hindu community's most important monuments. Completed in 1984, it replaces a much earlier temple built by the Chettiars (Indian moneylenders).

When the building was first created it was said to be the largest single room in the world.
The roof was covered in grass to to retain humidity and prevent the linen thread from drying out and becoming unmanageable. Sheep really did graze on the roof to keep the grass short.

Temple Island is an ornamental folly designed by the 18th century English architect James Wyatt, commissioned by the Freeman Family and constructed in 1771. It was designed as a fishing lodge for Fawley Court , a nearby historic house also owned by the Freeman family.
In the 19th century, the Island's ownership passed along with Fawley Court, from the Freeman family to the MacKenzie family. Excessive alterations were carried out under the new owner and due to a rise in the river level, made it necessary for the surrounding ground of the Temple to be raised by several feet. This lead to a change in the design of the south side of the building and a large wooden balcony was positioned with a double staircase down onto the grass. The MacKenzie family also erected a new stone statue of a nymph under the cupola.
In 1987, the future of the island, including the Temple, was secured through the generosity of Mr and Mrs Alan Burrough. Their £515,000 donation made it possible for Henley Royal Regatta to acquire a 999 year lease of the island from Miss MacKenzie, the freehold being vested in The Trustees of Temple Island.
Temple Island is the start point for The Henley Royal Regatta, and is situated a mile and a half downstream of Henley-on-Thames.

The temple, located on the heights of the Gravière district of Sainte Foy-Lès-Lyon, was built in 1982. It is also called the "pagoda", from its Asian architecture and preserves in its heart a double culture that of Vietnam and that of the Mahayana tradition of Buddhism based on artistic, human and spiritual values. The pagoda is also a “refuge” for people who open up to Wisdom and Awakening. Surrounded by a large garden, this place marks the traces of important stages in the history of Buddha and Buddhism.
I went there using a local train from Lyon-Saint-Paul to Francheville but it may be more straightforward to use the C19 bus departing from Lyon-Perrache arriving at la Gravière.
I did there a color film (Silberra Color 160) loaded in my Foca Universel "R" camera equipped with its normal lens Oplarex 1:1.9 f=5cm. It is the first color film with this camera and lens I did.

The film was exposed for 160 ISO using an Autometer III Minolta lightmeter fitted with a 10° finder for selective measurements. The Oplarex lens was equipped with a Foca AUV push-on 42mm protective filter and a generic cylindrical shade hood.
After exposure, the film was developed using the C-41 by local service. The film was then digitalized using a Sony A7 body fitted to a Minolta Slide Duplicator installed on a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5. The RAW files obtained were processed without intermediate files in LR and edited to the final jpeg pictures.
All views of the film are presented in the dedicated album either in the printed framed versions and unframed full-size jpeg accompanied by some documentary smartphone Vivio Y76 color pictures.
About the camera :
The Foca Universel "R" is the late series (circa 1956-1962) of the Foca Universel 35mm range-finder camera appeared in 1950 and produced until 1956. The Universel model of FOCa was fitted with a bayonet mount instead of the 36mm screw mount of other Foca PF (PF standing for "Petit Format"). Foca camera's were constructed in France by the company "Optique & Precision de Levallois" (OPL) in the OPL factory of Chateaudun (Eure) starting from 1947. This factory still exists under the name of SAFRAN a French company producing aerospace devices and systems. This exemplary of Foca Universel R was likely manufactured in 1959 or 1960.
The camera is equipped with the collapsible OPLAREX lens 1:1.9 f=5cm with the OPL bayonet mount.
The Ranakpur Jain temple was probably the most beautiful temple we saw on this trip. Well worth taking time out to visit.

The Bayon, is the exact centre of the town of Angkor Thom. The Bayon was the last state temple to be built at Angkor, and the only Angkorian state temple to be built primarily as a Mahayana Buddhist shrine dedicated to the Buddha

Candi Prambanan or Candi Rara Jonggrang is a 9th-century Hindu temple compound in Central Java, Indonesia, dedicated to the Trimurti, the expression of God as the Creator (Brahma), the Preserver (Vishnu) and the Destroyer (Shiva). Historians suggest that the construction of Prambanan probably was meant to mark the return of the Hindu Sanjaya Dynasty to power in Central Java after almost a century of Buddhist Sailendra Dynasty domination. The construction of this massive Hindu temple signifies that the Medang court had shifted its patronage from Mahayana Buddhism to Shivaist Hinduism.
