I was inspired by this poster.

I'm still not totally satisfied with the photography, but either way, here's the full build.

Alternate Shot

I was having a difficult time photographing the full build, so in the meantime here's a close-up.

Man, I am having an absolute blast doing these Indiana Jones scenes. This one was much easier to put together than the rope bridge scene, however I had to go back and re-shoot on account of some dust on the figures.

Seriously, it's the golden rule of LEGO photography - always dust off your figures before shooting, yet I always seem to forget about this until I'm editing my shots.

Oh well, second time is a charm I guess.

I need to learn more how to avoid reflections though, as the reflection from my lights irks me to no end. Anyone have tips on avoiding that?

Thanks a ton.

Temple of Doom is my favorite Indiana Jones movie, and one of my favorite movies of all time. That said, I've been trying to pick up some of the retired LEGO Indiana Jones sets for photos, but they are not coming cheap.

This one however was assembled via a few Bricklink orders.

I'm not 100% happy with the shot. The bridge came together awesome, but shooting it proved to be difficult. I couldn't get the straight on angle to work, so I opted for a different perspective than in the film.

Hope you like, thanks.

Hang on lady, we going for ride!

useful fact #7 ~ I can't play the guitar. I got it as a birthday present about 5 years ago and never got around to taking lessons. But I looked darn good with it didn't I? ;-)

Out of all my minifigs, Mola Ram is my absolute favorite. I only wish I bought the Temple of Doom sets when they were available. Maybe I'll get lucky one day and add them to the collection.

Seeing as I am attempting a LEGO-A-DAY project for 2017, I thought it would be helpful to give my non-Star Wars figures a chance at the spotlight.

This shot was pretty simple to put together - the background is just a bunch of chili-pepper lights which do a commendable job at creating fire.

In the foreground, I arranged a bunch of LEGO flame peices so they would be visible, but mostly out of focus.

Then, I lit the scene with the light from my iPhone making sure to move it around to throw light all over the place.

Then, in Lightroom I just tweaked things a bit. I did learn a new trick though with regards to Camera Calibration that was helpful in getting the colors I wanted.

I'm sure there is still a ton in Lightroom that I don't know about, so hopefully this project will help change that.

I watched all the Indiana Jones movies last week and

had a pretty good time! I decided to make figures from

every movie to go along with it.

Teased this build back in July but wasn't able to post a photo until now. What can I say, college keeps you busy.

Anyways, this is my first attempt at building any type of airplane and I think it came out pretty decent. The wings and landing gear were very interesting to figure out, and I ended up cutting some corners by ultimately choosing not to be completely faithful to the actual Ford Tri-motor.

Something I'm working on, figured I should tease it

cosmicbrickcustoms on Instagram is holding a contest about making five figures for a potential 2022 CMF in any LEGO theme, past or present. I already posted my Fabuland group, and today I have some Indiana Jones figs! I went with one per movie, including Indiana Jones 5, since what 2022 CMF would be complete without representation from a 2022 Indiana Jones film?

Also took some major inspiration from mostlylegostuff. Check out his post!

Lost in the heart of the jungle, Indiana Jones pushes forward, whip in hand and eyes sharp for danger.

Ancient stones whisper forgotten secrets as moss and vines hide the path to a legendary temple. Every step crackles with the promise of discovery and the risk of never returning.

Found this hole up in a sandy bank with what looked like a skull made of mud.

Indy and Ackbar had no idea what all the hassle was about, but judging from the smell these guys sure knew how to do barbeque!

Note: (at least) 2 more coming up! First part of Indy and Ackbar's adventures can be found here. I worked on this one for way too long, it's been wip since I released the first part. But in the process I think I finally got the idea what part 3 will be about (part 4 has been on my list for close to a year..).

Picked up the regular version of Belloq and another German Indy. Couldn't wait to get outside and shoot 'em!

Even though the build is technically done, it's still missing one major red piece. So as much as I would like to post a photo of the complete build today, I unfortunately have to delay that until I manage to get my hands on said piece.

In the meantime, here's another angle to tease the plane.

Timing and finesse! Jasper needs to replace the golden toy with his bag of sand of the same weight or he'll set off the booby traps. Will he make it out alive? Of course! He's the hero of this little story. What an adventurer!

I know, it's corny. But the opening sequence in the first Indiana Jones movie (youtu.be/aADExWV1bsM) popped into my head earlier this week and I couldn't shake it out.

There is an amazing array of carvings on many of the rock faces that are, or used to be parts of the temple walls. These depict stories from the ancient Hindu mythology dating back to several thousands of years.

I only made 20 figures this year so this list wasn't really that hard to make, we will start from left to right!

We have Short Round Indiana Jones Chief Thuggee Guard and Mola Ram all are form Temple of Doom then Ahsoka Anakin and Obi-Wan from Star Wars the Clone Wars, Captain Phasma from The Last Jedi, Embo from Star Wars the Clone Wars and Boba Fett from Star Wars 1313

Embo has to be my favorite, what's your favorite please let me know!

In over their heads as usual.

Happy Father's Day!
