Fender American Series 2000
Since I've mainly been a maker of portraits, I've decided to do a series of portraits of my guitars. Not photos of guitars sitting in guitar stands, but placed in the kind of environments I find for my models.
This made #381 in Explore on 10 Jun, 2008
A self build from Warmoth parts. Cream bound swamp ash body, birdseye maple neck, Seymour Duncan 'Seymourised' Mini at the neck, 1/2 a Kinman Broadcaster set at the Wilkinson bridge, Fender S-1 switch from eBay and more fun than you can shake a stick at.
I've been working on this since buying the guitar in NYC in january.
Modifications to a standard Tele are:
- Bigsby floating tremolo system
- Killswitch, mounted between tone controls
- Shimmed neck for low action but high body clearance
- Tex-Mex pickups for pos. 1 & 3 (stock)
- Strat pickup for pos. 2 (stock)
- 5-way pickup selector (stock)
Credit to John Moriarty for the Bigsby fitting
