One cool thing about the symbol of Tehran - it vaguely represents the shape of the city, and most of the street signs have a red triangle, telling you where you are. So here, for example, we're in the north of the city.
The landmark Azadi Monument in Tehran. Built in 1971 in commemoration of the 2,500th anniversary of the Persian Empire. It is 50 metres tall and is completely clad in cut marble.
One only of the most beautiful carpets you could see. Unfortunately flash from camera spoils this picture. One carpet I will never forget is a vase pattern with water streaming upward, flower patterns underneath; the effect of 3 dimensions especially in some silk carpets is amazing. When you look down on these carpets you are looking into a whole world..
