More Corona lockdown post processing...

Tehran's 45m tall all marble Azadi Tower (1972). I was in Tehran to run the I Run Iran TehRUN in 2017. It was the first international run in Iran since decades.

It had some international coverage. You can see me in the back at 0:45 in this video on CNN:

The tower, and the museum underneath, was closed that day so we couldn't go up.

Tehran, Iran

21 April 2018

I managed to travel around the South of Tehran by taking Metro but unfortunately during Friday and holidays, the city seems to be like a ghost town. Traffic is like non-existence. And shops are mostly closed.

Luckily I found this beautiful wall mural at Saadi Road, a walking distance to Tehran Bazar.

Explored! thank you all !

The flight from Tehran to Mashhad takes about 2 hours and passing by the barren mountains. This picture was captured while I was in the plane.

Taken from Velenjak on Alborz Mountains - Milad Tower is visible in the landscape.

North Tehran city skyline under clouds and the landmark Milad tower, Iran. This was one of those rare days in which one has nothing to do, which I dedicated to hunting iconic views of the Iranian capital. Starting here and ending in the Tabiat bridge.

Dominating the skyline of Tehran’s western suburbs, Milad Tower is 435m high, including 120m of antenna, making it, in 2017, the world’s sixth-tallest free-standing tower. Bearing a striking resemblance to Menara Kuala Lumpur, its octagonal concrete shaft tapers up to a pod with 12 floors, including both enclosed and open observation decks, a gallery, a cafe and a revolving restaurant At the base of the tower is the separate Tehran Milad Tower International Convention Centre, where concerts are occasionally held.

From my observation, when traffic lights went red in Tehran, the traffic kept driving through the intersection.

It was up to the traffic whose light had just gone green to inch forward slowly to narrow the way through until the red light traffic chickened out and stopped coming through.

Then the green light traffic could drive through the intersection...and keep driving through after the light turned red...

This photo is towards the end of the game when the motorbikes can still get through the gap...
