Tegernsee es un lago ubicado en el Distrito bávaro de Miesbach, en los Alpes. Es un lugar popular para el turismo alemán. Se encuentra a unos pocos kilómetros de Múnich. A sus orillas se encuentran las ciudades de Tegernsee, Bad Wiessee, Kreuth, Gmund am Tegernsee y Rottach-Egern, las cuales son reconocidas por sus hoteles y balnearios.
Tegernsee is a lake located in the Bavarian District of Miesbach, in the Alps. It is a popular place for German tourism. It is located a few kilometers from Munich. On its shores are the cities of Tegernsee, Bad Wiessee, Kreuth, Gmund am Tegernsee and Rottach-Egern, which are renowned for their hotels and spas.

Während des „Dritten Reichs“ hatten mehrere nationalsozialistische Größen wie Heinrich Himmler oder Max Amann Anwesen am Tegernsee, so dass sich der Begriff Lago di Bonzo (in Anlehnung an Bonze) in den 1960er Jahren etablierte. Die Nachfrage nach Wohnungen am Tegernsee ist ungebrochen und führt zu entsprechend hohen Immobilienpreisen. Für Ferienhäuser sind die Preise die höchsten im Alpenraum. Nach Angaben der Immobilienwirtschaft kosten "In den sehr guten Lagen ... Ein- und Zweifamilienhäuser mit hochwertiger Ausstattung in erster Seereihe bis zu 10 Mio. Euro.
