Kleman Plaza is an underground garage located northwest of the Capitol. Entrances are located on Duval Street and Bronough Street. The Eastside Parking Garage is located on Calhoun Street, and the entrance is on Calhoun Street. Cost information for city-owned parking facilities can found on the City of Tallahassee's website.

Visitor parking in the Capitol area is limited to either metered street spaces or designated lots. The City of Tallahassee manages two parking garages (Kleman Plaza and Eastside Parking Garage) and one surface lot (near Duval and Gaines). The Department of Management Services (DMS) manages two lots (Lot E and Lot 4). Spaces for visitors with disabilities are located on the west side of the House Office Building in the north side loading zone. There are more spaces located in the parking lot south of the Knott Building. If you're parking outside these lots in a non-metered spot, please ensure that the spot is marked for visitor parking. Cars parked in employee spaces will be towed.

Macro Mondays :: Technology :: 25.5.15

This watch may not be the wiz bang technology we know today but in my late father's day I'm sure it was quite the technology.

HMM everyone!

Whether you are a fan of Windpower or not there is no doubt that more and more they disrupt the beauty of some of our best landscapes in PA.

Somerset County is currently home to the most active wind farms (8) and the most wind turbines (198) in the State.

“The difference between technology and slavery is slaves are fully aware they are not free”

Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Inquiring about the buildings which look like 'half a building' we were informed, "these were the slave quarters.' While slavery wasn't the first thing we thought about while absorbing NOLAs fine sense of heritage and hospitality, when you become calibrated to it, it is hard not to think of elephants in the room.

French Quarter New Orleans

Stagecoach 34627 (KX54 OPB) operating route 4 along Technology Drive, Rugby. I had not seen this dart for several months (My last shot seems to be July last year) as it seemed to have been out-posted to Kettering. However, it is now in the reserve fleet, and today. the 1st of June 2018, I saw it pass me here on the way to Brownsover, so I decided to wait for it return, bound for the Admirals Estate.

A Symphony of Lights (Traditional Chinese: 幻彩詠香江) is a synchronised building exterior decorative light and laser multimedia display, featuring 45 buildings on both sides of the Victoria Harbour of Hong Kong accompanied by music. The technology was developed by Australian firm Laservision and cost approximately 44 million HK dollars. It has attracted over 4 million visitors and locals so far, and is held every night for ten minutes.

Guinness World Records has named A Symphony of Lights the world's largest permanent light and sound show.

Salt flats are ideal for calibrating the distance measurement equipment of satellites because they are large, stable surfaces with strong reflection, similar to that of ice sheets. As the largest salt flat on Earth, Salar de Uyuni is especially suitable for this purpose. In the low-rain period from April to November, due to the absence of industry and its high elevation, the skies above Salar de Uyuni are very clear, and the air is dry (relative humidity is about 30%; rainfall is roughly 1 millimetre or 0.039 inches per month). It has a stable surface, smoothed by seasonal flooding — water dissolves the salt surface and thus keeps it leveled.[citation needed]

As a result, the variation in the surface elevation over the 10,582-square-kilometer (4,086 sq mi) area of Salar de Uyuni is less than 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) normal to the Earth's circumference, and there are few square kilometers on Earth that are as flat. The surface reflectivity (albedo) for ultraviolet light is relatively high at 0.69 and shows variations of only a few percent during the daytime. The combination of all these features makes Salar de Uyuni about five times better for satellite calibration than the surface of an ocean. Using Salar de Uyuni as the target, ICESat has already achieved the short-term elevation measurement accuracy of below 2 centimeters (0.79 in).

With the use of modern GPS technology, it can now be proven that the Salar de Uyuni is not perfectly flat. New measurements revealed previously missed features resembling ridges, hills, and valleys only millimeters in height. They originate from the variation in material density, and thus the gravitational force, beneath the Salar's sediments. Just as the ocean surface rises over denser seamounts, the salt flat surface also rises and falls to reflect the subsurface density variations.
