This crustacean was built for the #tealsquadron display which is set on an ocean planet, so of course it needed some sea creatures. Compared to a minifigure it’s a giant lobster – the fauna in Star Wars tends to be intimidating. Currently it’s #timeforcrab in the building community but hopefully #timeforlobster isn’t too much of a sideways move.

My latest ship for Teal Squadron on display at Bricktastic 2025 in Manchester.
Teal Squadron is a collaboration between Inthert, Rogue Bantha, wami_delthorn, hhcBrick, Bricking It, lamborghiniwafflesauce, threeadventures, Gubi0222, Titolian, Wes Talbot and Ctperron
This prototype craft is equipped with communications jamming systems which can interfere with Imperial fleet transmissions.
Teal 1 is a valuable asset to the squadron as it can help buy time, blocking Imperial attempts to warn their fleet or call for reinforcements when Teal Squadron makes a surprise attack. It is also a fast and powerful starfighter, well equipped to make a difference in any skirmishes.
Crew is one pilot, one communications specialist and one astromech droid. The droid can enter and exit through the base of the ship in a similar way to the Naboo starfighter. The four engines tilt upwards for landing, causing the landing legs to fold out.

Y-Advanced Starfighter, one of my latest builds for the Teal Squadron Star Wars display, which will be coming to the Bricktastic show in Manchester on 22-23 February 2025.
The design was influenced by some of Ralph McQuarrie’s concept art for the original Y-Wing as well as some of his other designs. I was fairly certain I had seen one Y-Wing design featuring radar dishes on the front of the engine domes, but my friends assured me that I imagined this and I've not been able to find such an image since. So I guess I just like adding radar dishes to things.
Buoyed up by her success with the prototype E-Wing starfighter design, Teal Squadron engineer Jura Dayspring began work on a larger capital E-Wing craft. With four engines, increased firepower and room to transport a small unit of special forces (Or a morale-boosting band), the capital E-Wing was ideal for running secret missions.
General Dodonna, thrilled after the destruction of the Death Star, decided he’d had enough of being an armchair general and took over piloting the first capital E-Wing for running covert strikes on Imperial bases.

A short video showing the landing gear in action. When you lift the ship up, the engines drop down causing the landing gear to fold in. When you push the engines upwards, the landing gear folds out so the ship can be placed on the ground again.

After a series of minor mishaps and near misses the crew of Teal Squadron realised they needed to improve their air traffic control systems. The solution - Control Tower T-101b.

I re-worked the central portion of #tealsquadron , Teal 10 is getting a much needed service and upgrade. In case you're worried about it, I've removed the sand blue circular building as it always seemed a bit incongruous where it was. It will reappear somewhere else

So, you've probably/hopefully seen all the fantastic Teal Squadron builds recently. This is my humble addition to the theme. Never really used teal before, it really pops. Only 16 pieces on this build.
I had hoped that the white cockpit piece would sit a little more closely to the bubble canopy, but unfortunately it's a little off. Still, can't be helped and it looks good anyway, at least to me. I didn't want to crack this open for cutaway pictures, but there's all sorts of angular nonsense going on in there.
Aside from feeling the pressure of having to live up to the talent that's made Teal Squadron their own, this was a pretty fun build. Definitely feels like a throwback to my old style in terms of the angles, at least.
(I might need to iron the spare sheet I use as my photography studio, huh. With my usual apologies, as presentation is an afterthought.)
The Cobalt Thorn landed again last month @_bricktastic on the Teal Squadron collaboration with @tim_goddard928, @threedadventures, @hhcbrick, @inthert_builds, @lamborghiniwafflesauce, @i_am_bricking_it, @gubi_systems
