I am so ready for the next season of True Blood to begin! Game of Thrones is just too grim, I need the campy fun of True Blood in my life.
Meet Teacup, my very own monster in a box, and winner of the Boxtrolls Nike Shoe Contest! Created completely out of cardboard and hot glue.
Day 23
23rd January 2012
Monday. Feeling a bit grotty this morning so the Little Lady and I spent it at home whilst Chap was at preschool. Had music classes this afternoon and then we managed to get out for a little walk this afternoon. All going well until Chap fell off his scooter and hurt his hip, poor little man. He was ok after a freddy frog bar from the shop...
A quick snap for today, one of the vintage teacup candles that I have in our dining room.
Above my newly built little table in the butler's pantry. Some favorite things collected on this little shelf, including teacups I've collected from all over the world (one from Patrick's now-deceased Great-Aunt in Georgia, one from York, England, one from Maine, one from Oklahoma).
Tea anyone? This was taken at the Rally To Restore Sanity (hosted by Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert) on The National Mall in Washington D.C. - As you might guess, this is a bit of performance art mocking the Tea Party, teacups and tea bags included.
The teacups were off with no queue, so we presumed they were non-functional (like half the rides in the park seem to be for half of today). Just turns out nobody wants to go on them. We took a cup each and fucked around like idiots.
I finally got around to making a teacup candle with my candle-making supplies I ordered before Christmas. Sorry the photo is bad, the lighting is terrible but the candle turned out great, its french vanilla and Linen scented (I played around till I found something I liked and that I knew my friend Frizbe would like as the candle was a gift for her. I also made one from a Denby sugar pot for myself, but I forgot to photograph it before burning it!
Got two of this set to create a pretty "crazy" tea set. I searched high and low for teacup+saucer sets that were "me" and these ones fit the bill perfectly. I don't like the overly stuffy looking, rosed up Royal Albert sets for me. I think they're pretty but would look sooooo odd for me. These on the other hand, are very much like me. All girly and pretty and lovely and unique.
