Yes, I found some cheap teacups in Tokyo, and I figured 'now or never.' :) The teapot, however, is not new... that's a few years old courtesy of Ric... I just thought it was a cute combo. (^o^)
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before or maybe this is common knowledge or whatever, but the way typical Japanese people seem to like their dishes is as imperfect as possible. They love handmade pottery, particularly if it's a little warped or the glaze is uneven. So while Americans typically think of asian dinnerware as those perfect square plates... that is definitely there, the impression I've gotten is that it's like.... cheap. Like if you've just moved out and can't afford decent dishes, then you buy perfectly uniform monochrome dishes. That's the impression I've gotten anyway.... I'm perfectly happy to debate this with anyone, lol.

Another high street find, it's modern but has a pretty vintage style. I fell in love with it and had to have it.
One of the original rides at the Happiest Place on Earth. The teacups are shown here in their original location behind the carousel in Fantasyland where they stayed until 1982. The ride is exhilarating for most and stomach churning to guests who can't handle a good spin.
