Mini teacup hat, made from my own pattern.

This was so much fun to make, it's just ridiculously cute and silly and fun <3

Another final for my first unit 3 shoot titled 'Narrative' where I'm looking into fairytales with realistic current world problems. Yup it sounds quite morbid but seems pretty interesting! I took hours upon hours editing this one, I'm still not 100% happy with it but whatever I like it...ish.

HDR shot of the Teacups in Action at Magic Kingdom. Still trying to get the hang of the whole HDR thing.

This distinctive sandstone feature was fairly well-known (even outside the province) but difficult to locate. It was actually about a ten minute walk down the Gulf shore from Thunder Cove Beach, up until Hurricane Fiona knocked it over a little over a year later.

Pet clothes made for Dixie.

I love my girl!

She is wearing gloves because I ran out of that particular color of yellow. I have mixed feelings about how I stitched this teacup lady up. I think the colors are a bit garish. Or maybe it's because I really liked the first version I stitched up of her.

Oh well, I am not ripping these stitches out so she will have to be the odd duck of the group.

The inside looks like another night sky, too. I love that the grains of the coarse sand look like stars.

Dixie is sleeping with her paw over her face.

Chinese Teacup with Poem

Beautiful crackled-glaze small teacup with chrysanthemum flowers on the exterior and very extensive poem written on the inside. Hand-painted with artist's signature on bottom. In China, the drinking of tea is a contemplative ritual enhanced by the revealing of the poem as the tea is consumed. With wooden display stand. No chips or cracks.

Can you actually go to Disneyland and not get a picture on the teacups?

At grandfather's house in Taihu, Anhui.

I used the pattern in the October 09 edition of American Patchwork and Quilting. Designer is Mabeth Oxenreider. p. 74.

I got this six week old chihuahua on St. Patrick's Day! She was an early Easter present to me!! Her name is Scooter. She weighs 1 pound right now. She will get to be about 5 pounds. I also have a doberman and a rat terrier. The rat terrier, who's name is Little Bit, is part chihuahua. I love this little puppy so much!!!!! We have an extensive teacup collection at the UW Libraries, comprised of teacups donated by retiring librarians. Retirements are generally a celebration, a time to thank colleagues for their contributions, and to offer our best wishes in a new chapter in someone's life. But increasingly, I see retirements as immense losses. The more I learn, the more I realize that I have to learn, and my senior colleagues have been enormously generous with their experience. When they leave, they take this experience with them. At least we get the keep the teacups.

Trying to get better at colours.

a gift from my lovely friend sashi.

I can't ride the teacups because I will puke. I like the lights in this picture though. They remind me of lasers.

Lovingly chosen bone china teacups reclaimed from junk shop shelves to become pincushions - they even have steel wool inside to keep your pins sharp.
