Something about this composition with the bamboo in the background made me think about doing something different with the processing. I went with a bit more of a vintage look, it seemed like the scene fit with the idea.

Or O'Connell Street from O'Connell Bridge as we'd know it today. Chose this shot for its unusual low level angle on this street, and because it's so deserted - taken very early in the morning?
This was taken between 1860 and 1883, but wondering if Russell & Co. at no. 5 can help us with dating, as that building is festooned with "The New East India Tea Company". Next door is Bewley & Evans, Apothecaries...

A forgotten advertising icon, Natalie, a little girl cartoon for the old National Food Stores/National Tea Company grocery chain. She appeared in print ads in the early 1960s and apparently also in animated TV commercials. This came out of the 1964 Minneapolis Yellow Pages. "Gift House stamps with every purchase." Trading stamps are also a forgotten icon of the era.

VALPARAISO INDIANA
Little can be found concerning the Valparaiso Tea Company located in Valparaiso, Porter County, Indiana. It is known that Charles Ferdinand Beisler, the manager of the company, operated the tea company in Valparaiso from at least 1909 through 1916 and then moved to Hobart, Lake County, Indiana, and established his tea company in that community.
Charles would move again, this time to Glen Park in Gary, Lake County, Indiana, and operate his tea company there from 1916 till his death on January 14, 1944.
It is likely that the man on the delivery wagon is Charles Beisler.

Brick buildings 1800's, thank goodness all we need is another glass tower. Although most folks walk right by them with out ever noticing, lets leave some of these buildings around for a while, so at least some folks can enjoy them. A NYC with all green and clear glass buildings would be a dull place.

I love this photo. I am not at all sure what the gentlemen of this Tea Company have to do with Col Thurburn but he had their photo in his album. Their names starting with the three standing (or leaning) at the back are left to right Elliot, P Carnegy, Major Harrison. Dr Brown and Dr Douglas are seated at the front
