37229 heads 7C20, the Sellafield - Drigg LLW train through the rain at Seascale on 15 March 2011.

 

The train comprises twelve of DRS’ ubiquitous PFAs mainly carrying standard half height ISO Low Level Waste containers of type TC01 with a TC02 re-usable box at the rear. The first two PFAs are carrying Nupak containers for the removal of Intermediate Level Waste from the Low Level Waste Repository to Sellafield.

 

Made for an online contest this model is meant to depict a prominent youtube vid-logger that has a fetish for Pre-Heresy Imperial Fists much like i myself have :)

Harry Needle loco 08375 passes Seascale golf course on 29 April 1999 being trialled on the Sellafield – Drigg Low level Waste repository trip.

The containers are type TC01, made by WH Davis measuring 2.438 wide 6. 58 long x 0.88 metre high. The waste contents are grouted in at Sellafield and the package stored in a vault at the Low Level Waste Repository at Drigg. There is a reusable version of this container (TC01R) that has a filtered vent fitted.

A total of seventy eight people were killed during the operation, of which thirty-one were American, eight were German civilians and thirty-nine were British, Commonwealth and Civilian air and ground crews.

 

Originally the commonest use of PFAs was for carrying low level nuclear waste in half height ISO containers, though as the second decade of the 20th century progressed the Low level waste movements declined and intermediate level waste became more common. These containers are bound for the Low-Level Waste Repository at Drigg and the most commonly seen are the red oxide coloured half height ones, type TC01.

 

On 15 March 2011, The Sellafield – Drigg train (7C29) was mainly made up of the TC01s. However there were some green Intermediate level waste boxes behind 37229 and an unusual grey half height on the rear which is a TC02 container. I don’t know the exact purpose of this box on this particular occasion but, as it carries no labels it is not currently transporting nuclear material, so it was probably destined to remove something from the Repository.

 

The container is a reusable design for primary packaged material or large items.

Going up the steep hill leading sw out of Aarhus past Viby and Stautrup. Underpowered and/or heavily loaded trucks often struggle here.

Retirement age for trucks: many used trucks are offered for sale on international markets. If sold to a foreign buyer, this will not be listed in the danish motor registry, so a "retired" truck may or may not have been exported. In other words, the "retirement age" only shows the age, at which the truck stopped running on danish license plates.

  

I gots me a new toy. I found on Ebay a brand new Olympus TG-5 unopened box, for a steal price! I bought the TG-5 especially for slow motion. I also got the TC01 teleconverter, and this works really well. This was shot at 720p @ 240fps, and then slowed down by half in post.

The microscope is pretty amazing too, so much to learn!

I had entertained the amazing Sony RX10 Mkiv for slo mo, but that is a really big camera. And I did not want it to compete with my amazing EM1Xs and the amazing long lenses for my critter and bird photography ...

I have a whole new genre to get into, and this really spruced up my camera interest which had sort of waned for a bit. the winter I rekon.

XPEL 歷史與背景

 

XPEL原本是3M的代理商,起初專門替3M銷售車燈包膜版型,但是XPEL認為3M的品質與理念不符合XPEL的宗旨,所以毅然決然放棄與3M的合作關係,開始自行研發更好的產品,且成為加拿大第一家生產各種車輛薄膜的上市公司,並於2011年推出XPEL LUX這項跨時代產品,該薄膜具有self-healing(自體修復)能力,隔年3M也推出具有自體修復能力的薄膜產品,這說明XPEL的薄膜研發技術領先全球,讓3M這樣在薄膜研發生產的霸主,也不得不跟隨著XPEL腳步,藉此瓜分車體包膜市場的大餅。

匠車體鍍膜之所以會加入XPEL經銷,主要是因為本店有許多顧客需要品質好的包膜服務,尤其是看到這些顧客愛車的包膜品質(短時間內這些顧客的PVC膜變黃、翹邊、脆化),所以更激起我們去找尋材料性能更好的薄膜,經過長時間找尋,我們發現台灣多數包膜店家都採用PVC(聚氯乙烯),PVC除了燃燒會產生世紀劇毒戴奧辛之外,通常為了塑型也會添加塑化劑,但這些塑化劑絕大多數是有毒的,容易致癌並影響人體生殖機能,而且以PVC為主要材料的包膜容易因紫外線造成質變(黃化、脆化),這是因為PVC材質非常懼怕310nm波長的紫外線(可參考專業文章:塑膠還原保護劑的作動機制),所以我們一直無法找尋到特性好的薄膜材料為各位服務,直到XPEL LUX這項產品的出現,XPEL LUX薄膜主要的基材為聚氨脂(Polyurethane, 簡稱PU),聚氨脂以其優異的物理與化學特性,值得我們推薦給各位,這些優異特性包含:

在低溫環境下仍保有極佳的柔韌性

耐候性佳,使用壽命可達數十年

耐油性佳

XPEL LUX薄膜組成介紹

The first layer:

CLEARCOAT(清漆層,俗稱金油層,膜厚:0.013mm),可增加薄膜保護性,提升車漆光澤度,讓車漆更加深邃,包膜完工後鈑件不會呈現塑膠質感,保有車漆本身金油層原先亮澤度,增加抗UV能力,並提高各種污染的抵抗能力,包含:酸雨、灰塵、鳥糞、蜂屎…等。

The second layer:

POLYURETHANE(聚氨脂,膜厚:0.152mm),耐磨性佳、機械強度大、黏著性強、有極佳的彈性、耐候性佳、耐油性佳、耐紫外線、耐強酸鹼汙染、耐有機溶劑破壞。

The third layer:

ACRYLIC ADHESIVE(丙烯酸黏合劑,膜厚:0.04mm),丙烯酸黏合劑主要是由丙烯酸與甲基聚合物所組成的樹脂類黏合劑,丙烯酸黏合劑的組成是相當複雜而且不易合成,這也是XPEL包膜不易產生脫膠與翹邊的由來,其特性具有非常強的黏著力,更可耐陽光照射,在高濕環境中也不易分解,更可承受外界溫度的巨大波動而不質變。

The fourth layer:

POLYESTER RELEASE LINER(聚脂撥離膜,膜厚:0.076mm),聚脂撥離膜具有耐磨損、耐熱性佳、優異的附著力、高拉伸性、耐溶劑、防潮、柔軟度佳…等特性。

 

Self-healing(自體修復能力)

 

XPEL LUX自2011年發表之後,開啟了自體修復膜的新里程碑,只要利用陽光熱能以及溫水即可將刮傷修復,這也讓許多薄膜生產製造商開始跟進研發,3M Scotchgard PRO為目前台灣較廣為人知的也同樣具有自體修復能力的薄膜,XPEL LUX與3M Scotchgard PRO這兩者看似特性大同小異,但我們仔細分析所使用的材料之後,匠車體鍍膜寧可選擇更好的薄膜材質,否則以3M的知名度來說,而且3M Scotchgard PRO的價位也較XPEL LUX便宜許多,如果我們選擇3M的包膜,絕對更容易讓台灣消費者接受,當然我們也可以賺到更好的利潤,為何我們執意要使用在台灣市場能見度低、知名度差、連成本都高出3M許多的XPEL薄膜,我們沒發瘋也不是傻了,就如同我們日本類玻璃鍍膜(聚硅氧烷)剛開始消費者也是無法接受,但是好的塗層材料不會因地點不同而改變,終究還是會被消費者所接受,同樣的我們深信好的包膜材質也會被消費者所接受,只是需要時間來證明一切。

一、不了解產品的顧客不做:對於不了解我們施工方式與施工材料的顧客,我們不做,為何不做呢?因為自己的愛車要做美容施工都不願意花時間去了解店家如何施工,用了何種的洗劑(這些洗劑是酸性、鹼性、亦或是中性都不清楚的話,只看成果這種表面功夫抱歉我們做不到,我們要讓顧客有“知”的權利,一旦顧客知道了解,就可避免黑心店家的欺瞞),為了對消費者負責我們願意去研究主要的產品成分與內容物,不會一昧聽從產品經銷商的推銷之詞,我們只引進對顧客對員工好的產品分享給各位(因為汽車美容產品通常含有溶劑,這些溶劑或多或少都會造成身體上的傷害)。

 

二、不懂價值的顧客不做:有些顧客前來詢問我們施工項目與價格,直覺反應是“貴”,卻不問我們如何做施工,使用何種產品與車蠟,我們可以為了顧客一台愛車進行基礎棕櫚護理花了五個小時,施工費用為1200,這包含車體清潔(採用德國或英國中性洗車精)、去瀝青(採用中性酵素型瀝青乳化劑)、內裝清潔(採用德國甜菜根提煉的中性內裝清潔劑)、皮革保養(採用水性皮革保養液)、車內外塑膠料件保養(採用抗紫外線美國進口塑膠保養劑)、純手作上蠟(採用Q-glym代理的A+御守棕櫚蠟),試問這樣的施工內容會很“貴”嗎?今天花四十分鐘我們一樣可以把顧客的愛車處理的漂漂亮亮,收個四、五百一樣簡單就可賺,為何我們不做,套一句老話“魔鬼藏在細節當中”。

 

三、不認同的顧客不做:做汽車美容與車體鍍膜是相當辛苦的一件工作,不管是對體力與專注力都是一大考驗,希望顧客不要將我們定位成洗車的,或許傳統式的汽車美容店人員的素質會讓顧客認為我們就是洗車的,任何行業都有其辛苦的一面,請彼此相互尊重,所謂術業有專攻,我們不認為我們是頂尖且專業,專不專業由顧客自行認定。
