Girl touching the water is a sculpture from Marta Solsona, inaugurated on Aug. 10th, 2006, placed by the Lake of Banyoles, next to the Tourism Office.
You might want to listen this song from Lluis Llach while looking at this picture:
Technical details. There are just a few hours (on a sunny day) during which the sunlight is at the proper angle if you want to capture that backlit. On the other hand, the statue lies a few meters away from the bank, just in front of the lake's tourist boat, with a red inflatable lifeboat usually moored just below. You have to work while the tourist boat is away (every 40' during service hours) to get a clear background, and carefully frame the picture. I had to sacrifice the girl's finger to avoid the garish red lifeboat while composing the lights bokeh in a pleasant set up. Postprocessing: I just underexposed a wee bit the lowlights in LR, and fixed the contrast and curve levels in Color Effex Pro, honoring the original blue tone.

Rowing boats are held at the start line by boat holders under the orders of the aligner officer. It's a voluntary, non-profit, gruelling chore which deserves great acknowledgment since they have to stay under the sun or rain for hours.

I definitely love the aesthetics of the eights interleaved in a race sweepeing so close, darting throuhgh the race course. Let me note that to get these colors I've just increased slightly the dynamic contrast, bleaching the garish green of the grass, which was much more preeminent in the picture than in reality. I worked on the contrast of the water surface, and selectively applied a yellow graduated filter to it, in a moderate percentage (like 30%) and exluding the white buoy on the right, which is essential to balance the composition. Worked with LR5, Viveza and Color Effex Pro.
They hide in the brook when I seek to draw nearer,
Laughing amain when I feign to depart;
Often I hear them, now faint and now clearer—
Innocent bold or so sweetly discreet.
Are they Nymphs of the Stream at their playing
Or but the brook I mistook for a voice?
Little care I; for, despite harsh Time’s flaying,
Brook voice or Nymph voice still makes me rejoice.

Es una piedra interesante mi puto corazón
Cuando la miras se ilumina
cuando la tocas, apenas
diez segundos, se pone dura
como un caleidoscopio
It's an interesting rock my fucking heart
When you look at it, it shines
When you touch it, just
ten miuntes, it gets hard
like a kaleidoscope

Life appears always fully present along the epidermis of his body: vitality ready to be squeezed forth entire in fixing the instant, in recording a brief weary smile, a twitch of the hand, the fugitive pour of sun through clouds. And not a tool, save the camera, is capable of registering such complex ephemeral responses, and expressing the full majesty of the moment. No hand can express it, for the reason that the mind cannot retain the unmutated truth of a moment sufficiently long to permit the slow fingers to notate large masses of related detail.

Word's around that the gods dominated the waves and rode them around
Some grooooooooovy music to enjoy youtu.be/tJLAyrTN5Fc (but as Thomas Pynchon wrote, if you remember something about that epoch... you really wasn't there)

Still, there is something predatory in the act of taking a picture. To photograph people is to violate them, by seeing them as they never see themselves

Ready in the bird blind to photograph a nuthatch on a nearby branch when suddenly a juvenile robin hopped into the frame. The robin looked three times the size of the nuthatch and didn’t fit in the fixed space of the prime lens and teleconverter. I had no room to back up in the blind, and didn’t want to startle the young one.
So this young robin has no feet in this shot. But I'll post bird feet I have missed some day. Turdus migratorius, a migratory songbird of the thrush family.

Courlis corlieu | Whimbrel | Numenius phaeopus
A sizable Female Northern (Red-shafted) Flicker takes off for better food. A mid- to large-sized northern flicker measures 28–36 cm (11–14 in) in length and 42–54 cm (16+1⁄2–21+1⁄2 in) in wingspan. (The Cornell Lab of Ornithology— All About Birds.)
