I don't get many sunsets but is a pretty view just that ? a pretty view... I think so myself but cannot resist a pretty view sometimes as they contain memories of some very happy days. I remember this particular coastal path walk towards Trebarwith Strand very well for a few reasons. One was meeting a walker who had his tent and billycan along with his haversack as he was walking the whole of the Cornish coast path and at a good pace. However he stopped to talk for a few minutes to warn us of Adders. Coming here for so many years and seeing Adders four times we are careful but it was a kindness to warn us. Anothing thing I loved in this view which actually disappointingly look unremarkable in this image because they are so tiny are the hundreds of tiny blue flowers which research tell me are called the not so pretty name sheep's bit (jasione montana ) there was a little bit of Sea Thrift and a few Sea Campion but difficult to make out tbh.. but you have to admit it, even if if only to yourself that is a pretty view with Gull Rock being an unmistakable Landmark, or is it an Ocean mark or a beacon? I don't know but the view was pretty :)
Before you take out your virtual pitchforks, yes, I am doing a portrait again. I simply couldn't let go of the format just yet. My Flickr feed looks like an absolute mess thanks to all the different photo sizes, but I suppose it is something I have called upon myself. Thanks, forever lingering indecesiveness. [read more...]

tbh should have shot this in raw, but been trying out jpegs again just to see if raw is worth it. I love the image but the iq is low
tbh I wasn't going to do a macro Mondays this week as I didn't think I had anything of interest, but when I got given this by the tyre fitter I changed my mind lol. HMM
TBH, I thought I was touching up a similar shot that's in my "YKS" folders.

Well the time has come......which tbh I didn't really think was going to happen and at the last minute by some miracle all would work out.....
(bad habit me thinking like that its beginning to appear 🙈).....There would be space at the ideal local SEN provision for 'H'
In one way I've saved myself a summer of worry thinking it would all work out in the end......
Other hand - BAM I'm now a Yr 7 teacher.......
So for teacher's perks (and yes we are following the curriculum and have a classroom set up - even a list of our school policies 😁) I declare photography on the time table.....
And I'm pleased to say the lesson has contributed immensely to 'H's photography skills......
As demonstrated by him Sunday morning when we went to watch the 'swan song' for the Class 507's at Hooton Station ......
He skidded onto the platform floor like a footballer with his celebration knee slide that even Mbappé would have been proud of .....don't quite know what the other photographer's thought.....but there again he's just like his Mom 😁

A car I've seen once before but now I found it to get some photos. There are more than these left than I thought, and this one has had a hard life but is still earning it's keep. It has had lots of welding done so is clearly loved.
tbh the photo was inspired by this song but it's more relevant than ever with current events.

Tbh It’s m feeling a bit sad and lonely today as for the first time since his birth I’ve not been able to spend time with my boy. It’s fantastic his birthday has fallen on his dad’s weekend but I don’t half miss him. Still I’ve had fun this evening with a cheap bottle of irish cream and AI 😁 Fingers crossed with the big 13 he doesn’t come home tomorrow too Kevin. Happy birthday’H’ ❤️

TBH the signs been there for over a week. It’s well dry lol! People still checking the paint for wetness.
This is from just one hive (TBH#6) a new colony, a swarm from this spring.We also took a bar of honey from this hive and added to a very small colony(another spring swarm), and some from another. TBH#6 a very productive colony that has nearly filled the entire TBH. This is the lightest honey of all that we harvested. (97F) phew, glad to be done with all but the Langstroth (just too hot to continue). I don't harvest as much as the average beekeeper does, for I believe supplements (fondant/sugar syrup etc) is not a good substitute for honey therefore makes for a weaker colony.
More bad news for the bees and us in the long run.

TBH, I did not take this photo, my brother sent it to me from Aruba. The original photo was nice, but has so many distractions that took away from the beauty of the water. I removed all the distractions and blurred the ocean and created this amazing beach art.

Recently (to my surprise tbh) I was hired at a makeup/beauty store, & it's just got me thinking a lot lately about modern femininity & what exactly constitutes it / what we believe constitutes it / how it effects me/she/him/we/us as a group I guess.
A TV does not become feminine because it's wearing makeup, makeup is paint that's made to not irritate skin. A woman who wears too much makeup is a 'slut' or 'lying about her looks' or 'insecure' or 'asking for it' & a woman who wears too little is 'lazy' & a man who wears it is automatically gay or transitioning etcetcetcetc. It's goddamn paint. & please don't get me wrong, I love makeup--it's been shown that the ritual of applying makeup boosts the wearer's self esteem just bc they're spending time on themselves, & I think every person deserves that. Also being that it's paint I think it really is an art. It's just the meaning and implications of wearing it that we've assigned it that gets me.
