Nach wie vor bereichern die Baureihen 1116 und 1016 das deutsche Schienennetz. Mit einem KLV aus Rheinhausen war 1116 199 der ÖBB bei Ansbach gen Süden unterwegs.

ÖBB loc 1116 263 komt met trein IC183 van Stuttgart Hbf naar Zürich HB aan op station Horb. 22 november 2021
Nun existiert neben cityjet 4744/4746, cityjet 4023/4024/4124 und cityjet 5022 mit cityjet 1116 eine weitere Tfz-Type im Markendesign des Nah- und Regionalverkehrs der ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG. Bemerkenswert ist die nochmals optisch aufgebesserte und nunmehr schwarz lackierte Dachhaube der Lok, welche ihr eindeutig besser steht, als die zuletzt präsentierte hellgraue Designvariante der 1116 181.
The picture above is showing 1116 181 with regional train REX 2317 Wien Floridsdorf - Bad Vöslau. Loco as well as coaches have been technical overhauled and are now part of the representative "cityjet" fleet of ÖBB Personenverkehr AG.

Am 16.08.2022 bespannte 1216 012 den EC 83 von München Hbf nach Rimini. Hier passiert sie mit etwa 5 Minuten Verspätung das beschauliche Örtchen St. Jodok. Der nächste planmäßige Halt des Zuges wird der Bahnhof Brennero/Brenner sein, an dem der Stromwechsel von Wechsel- auf Gleichstrom stattfindet.
