NANGAHAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Task Force Six-Shooters outgoing Charlie Troop commander Capt. Chad Monroe of Hiram, Ga., passes the guidon to Task Force Six-Shooters squadron commander Lt. Col. Combined Task Force Dragoon Soldiers received their deployment awards on Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. The Soldier's are returning home after a 9-month deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
On Saturday, Aug. 27, the 107th Airlift Wing will deploy 45 Airmen as part of TASK FORCE IRENE will be stationed at Camp Smith near Albany NY. These airmen will remain in place at the center to ride out the storm and then immediately respond to aid civil authorities as directed in New York City. Greenville Fire/Rescue, New Bern Fire Department, and Greenville Police held a two-day water rescue training along the Tar River in Greenville on August 3–4, 2022. The joint training exercises help NC Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 10 members build and maintain water rescue skills and techniques, such as boat handling, victim retrieval, and search and rescue operations.
Known as North Carolina Task Force 10, we are the only team located east of I-95 and north of Wilmington, North Carolina. The North Carolina USAR Task Force team system maintains caches of equipment strategically located throughout the state. Each Task Force team must be capable of a quick response with the necessary equipment, personnel and training to handle any natural or man-made event for up to 72 hours. All the training and equipment is standardized across the state.
