This annual family-oriented event serves as an introduction for young people and newcomers to outdoor sports while teaching the important role hunting and fishing play in wildlife conservation.
Took the scenic route to New Orleans from Fayetteville, stopping to pick up a friend of a friend on the way. Got in late, he went to sleep, I stayed up. Nice rydes spotted in the wild. WW2 M5 Stuart Light Tank spotted at a 76 gas station in West L.A./Mar Vista area.
The tank was being prepped for the new owner that was going to have it delivered to it's new home.
My husband shooting his new Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 380 while i'm shooting him with my new Nikkor 50mm f1.8! Pretty sweet lens! Rather nice gun too; he got it bc his dad's machine shop made the slide for it.
It's Dave's stag night tonight, so my uncle came up from Leeds for it. My cousin also came with him.
As it was a long way to come just for a night of drinking, we went to Cluny Clays for some outdoor activities today.
We did clay pigeon shooting, archery, target practice with air rifles, and also used the driving range.
We were there for 2 hours and this is the only photo I managed to take! It's my cousin at the target practice.
The hardest to hit. One BB even bounced off. I tried to make an origami bear so I could joke about hunting big paper game, but it was too hard so I gave up.
A visit to Hampton Court Castle Gardens & Parkland on the August Bank Holiday Monday.
The main events on this Bank Holiday were Jousting & Birds of Prey.
Six Horse Jousting with Cavalry of Heroes at Hampton Court Castle in Herefordshire on the Bank Holiday weekend of the 28th and 29th August 2016.
The show went on for around half an hour. It was more than just jousting. The actors on the horses going around trying to hit targets. Even a sword fight at the end!
Had names such as "King Henry", "Sir Lancelot" and "Baldrick". Was also a "bad" team (the ones in dark clothing).
target practice
Alex & Will, our kinfolk, traveled up from their home in Kentucky to sample the wild game of western NY. They brought their Daisy Red Ryder .177 caliber carbines so that we could shoot some tin cans. I had a great time with them and wish they lived closer so we could see them more.
