Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. On a sweltering day for Glasgow following weeks upon weeks of rain, I caught a previous 'stranger' from my 100 Strangers project, candidly here. Stewart poked his tongue out at me after I took this and we both laughed about it - he was topless (Taps Aff) the last time I photographed him. Enjoy!

Candid street portrait, with eye contact, taken in Glasgow, Scotland. The weather is so rarely warm enough to remove layers of clothing in Glasgow that the phrase 'Taps-Aff' (tops off) is now also used just to describe good times being had! This guy laughed his wee white socks off after I took this shot and beckoned me over where we had a brief chat and he posed for a 'stranger' portrait for me, which will be posted in due course with more details! Enjoy the warm weather when it comes!

I really need to get myself a 35mm prime lens. I always wander around with my 17-50 set at 35mm anyway. Hmmm....

Honor Guard of The United States Army removes the flag from the casket. 1st Lt. Charles E. Lees, B-29 Comander / pilot who flew 8 combat missions over Imperial Japan. Was on active duty from 1941 to 1946 and in the reserves until 1954.

A final salute to a fallen soldier. With over 1,000 WW11 veterans passing away each day it is almost impossible to receive a burial with full military honors. For the burial of my father, a bomber pilot for the United States Army Airforce ( 1941 - 1946) the local chapter of the USMC veterans organization joined with three active duty soldiers from Ft. Knox to give 1st Lt. Lees a military burial.

An old shot from June 2018 with the traditional Glaswegian approach to a hot sunny day (of which there are plenty just now)! Wishing you all a fantastic weekend of photography - stay safe!

Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland.

A previously unpublished shot from April 2015.

It is incredibly rare that I take more than one shot of the same person on the street unless it is for a street portrait with their permission. This is Stewart, who did give his permission for one of my '100 Strangers' project portraits but after I had captured a candid and a couple of follow up shots of his reaction. He really was quite the character. 'Taps Aff' is Glaswegian, or perhaps Scots, vernacular for 'tops off'. Enjoy!
