Santa Ana district of Madrid, especially this little street (calle Victoria) has an insane number of insanely tasty and insanely cheap tapas bars. The Spanish way is to get one or two signature tapa(s) at one bar and quickly move on to the next. Hmm... inebriating! At first we ordered beer or sangria every time we went into a tapas bar, but it soon turned out to be too much alcohol, especially for me (I can get exhilarated with a glass of beer). So toward the end of our two-week trip, we developed a gut to go into tapas bars ,without ordering any alcohol! We sure did get purplexed stares from the bartenders, but they were cool about it as a rule.
