From this angle, it is clear why the hill which hosts the second highest hill-fort in Britain is so popular with free-flyers. Rising over 1000 feet above Strathbogie, it presents only one abrupt option for winds blowing from the south and east, and that in turn keeps us happily airbourne. Here, I'm circling in a thermal with Alastair, looking west over Clashindarroch forest and the Cabrach to Ben Rinnes, puncturing the sky in the distance.

My first time spotting the new TAP A330 with Rolls Royce engines! This one was passed from Azul to TAP. They have been used for USA routes but this one was deployed to the Brazilian Northeast this week. Callsign TAP31 is seen here taxiing on taxiway Alpha, after arriving from LIS. Photo taken handheld! Well, this is my third A330 taken handheld at night, and all three were in this taxiway! Actually the first one was Azul PR-AIX, which now is... this TAP A330. LOL

I captured this image of the male northern flicker from an upstairs window. His tail feathers are angled forward here for balance and he is tapping the tree as you can see by the slight blurring of his beak. The red chevron at the nape of his neck is more visible here, too. Having sat it out for two weeks whilst I was in England, I thought it was time to make an effort for this week.
Ellie really loves going to dance class every week. Here she is dancing her little feet off.

Taken quite a few years ago with my lensbaby. Decided to crop as square, as I think it's better balanced.

...saw this leaky tap in the park...and I just wanted to turn it off but there was no handle. Lucky we are not in drought at the moment!

This year my wife's class danced to Putting On The Ritz. I hoped they would have used Taco's version but it was apparently too fast for them. So they used Frank Sinatra's version.

I know, it was a Highland Gathering and, we too, were expecting to see pipes and drums and men in kilts but these people were absolutely fantastic.
